We arrived for our honeymoon with high expectations having read the previous reviews and studied The Blue Hayes' impressive website. We were a little concerned that our expectations may have been too high. However, we needn't have worried, the hotel itself was idyllic as was its location. We received a very warm welcome from Malcolm and a comprehensive tour of the hotel, this tour was accompanied by many 'wows' and 'this is lovely' comments from us. The whole hotel was stylishly decorated in a minimalist fashion and everything looked as if it had just been completed, nothing was worn, scuffed or grubby, everything was pristine. Being that it was October we only managed one breakfast on the terrace due to the fresher weather but the views over St Ives Bay towards the Godrevy Lighthouse in one direction and St Ives in the other were stunning. Likewise the views from the spacious and comfortable Godrevy Suite where we stayed were equally spectacular. Malcolm and the staff could not have done more for us, they were always there if we needed them but they were not intrusive. Indeed the whole experience was classy and subtle. Being a walk from St Ives had its advantages, parking was no problem and there was a feeling of wide open spaces with room to breathe, rather than being in one of the narrow, if attractive, lanes within St Ives itself. Breakfast was something to look forward to each day, the views from the beautiful dining room were also amazing and the choices of juices, cereals and cooked food were excellent. The traditional breakfast was delicious, especially the special fried bread, which Malcolm explained was not as fattening as we thought! The salmon benedict was the best ever, it still makes my mouth water thinking about it. Although evening meals were catered for, as it was necessary to place an order by 10.00am, we didn't do this as we prefer to order the food we fancy more spontaneously. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and we are very much looking forward to returning next year to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.

Room Tip: The Godrevy Suite was spacious and impressive, the bed was extremely comfortable and cosy and the porthole above the bed provided both novelty and good views of the sun rising (if awake!)

We've just returned from yet another fantastic stay at The Blue Hayes. This time we stayed in the Bay Suite with it's fantastic sea views, extremely comfy bed and lovely en-suite. On the way down to St Ives we visited the Eden Project, and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a really enjoyable and educational few hours. We also went on the Zip Wire which is the longest in England and well worth a try for just £10.00.

On our first night we tried a couple of Malcolm's cold suppers and found them to be really tasty and just right after a long day's travelling plus the Eden Project visit. We ate at Peppers on the 2nd night (recommended) and also the St Andrews Bistro which we found had a great buzz about the place plus a great welcome from Martin the owner.

All in all another fantastic stay at the Blue Hayes. Many thanks to Malcolm, Jade, Sue and all the other staff for a warm welcome and much pampering over the 3 days we were there. We've already booked again for next year and have started to count down the days already.

A great return trip to the BLUE HAYES - just as wonderful as last time. My favourite place for a weekend without the children to recharge my batteries. Malcolm and his team are perfect hosts and attention to detail is impressive. Have now tried both the Godrevy Suite and Bay Suite - both spacious with fabulous sea views. Our light suppers on Sunday (and both breakfasts) were delicious - great choice of food and generous portions. Thank you too for the champagne and card for my birthday - very much appreciated.

Room Tip: Godrevy/Bay Suites - sea views even from your bed!

We chose Blue Hayes having honeymooned there in 2008 and it seemed the logical choice. We were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived we felt Malcolm and his team were welcoming back old friends and were joining in our celebrations.

As before, the room was lovely and we had a chilled bottle of champagne and personalised card waiting for us.

I know it is only a small hotel, but the feeling of total peace combined with excellent customer service is a really clever trick to pull off.

The breakfast menu is sensational with food quality to match.

We cannot recommend highly enough if you are looking for total relaxation in immaculate surroundings. Also well located, out of the "hubbub" of St Ives, but in easy walking distance of the restaurants etc.

We shall be back!

I do not have anything to say about this wonderful hotel that has not already been said. It is immaculate and supremely comfortable with spectacular views over the bay. Malcolm and his team are fantastic. The breakfast menu is incredible in its diversity and quality. A perfect place to relax and unwind.
