“Great week and we will return.”

A very clean and comfortable B and B, which is also full of character. From the moment that we arrived until we left we could not have been made to feel more welcome by the owners Cheryl and Ken.
We were rather late booking and were told that they only had a double room at the rear left so were a little worried that we might have to settle with something not so good but were pleasantly supprised by the size and comfort of both the room and en suite. Not that we should have been as the standards throughout ,cleanliness food quality ect were all very high. All in all a very pleasant holiday in St Ives made extra good by the warm welcome. We would certainly love to repeat this visit in the future and again leave the car parked at the hotel for the duration of the stay.

The land lady Cheryl is one of these who cannot do enough for you. The room was comfortable and there was a lovely well equipped comfortable lounge. The location was good bearing in mind it is difficult to park or even drive in St Ives. It is an 8 minute walk down to the harbour and town but a very steep walk back and most people will need a taxi about £4. On the down side the bedroom was small with creaky furniture and doors but the bed was comfortable.

I had the pleasure of spending 2 nights here and enjoyed everyminute! It was welcoming and friendly and as a traveller on my own I felt very safe and relaxed. The room was compact but had everything that you need and was immaculately kept.
It is at the top of a very steep hill, if you are of average fitness this is no problem at all, if not there is a bus that stops very nearby or taxis are easy to find and very cheap, it's worth it fir the views alone!
What more can I say other than I will be going back in the very near future!

Chose this place at random and was not disappointed.........wanted a B&B a little outside of town........
comfort/breakfasts/location 100%........lovely and quiet although not on the flat........easy to walk down to the
harbour but an effort to walk up (all part of the holiday).....made this a base for touring the west of Cornwall...
will visit St Ives again and stay at this supurb B&B

Late spring 2010 I decided to go to St. Ives for my summer vacation. Searching the Internet I found The Old Count House, booked a room for two weeks - and crossed my fingers in the hope that it would be 'an OK' place to stay. It turned out to be so much more than that! The Old Count House is a lovely old stone house with bags of character and my single room was cosy and comfortable and had a stunning view. In the morning there were plenty home cooked dishes to choose from the breakfast menu and as much hot coffee as I could ever want. But more importaintly, the owners - Cheryl and Ken - have managed to create a Guest House with such a warm and friendly atmosthere. I felt more like a cherished member of the family than 'just another paying guest'.

I'm not usually one to write reviews but was really pleased with The Old Count House. It is a lovely old house, full of character and has been tastefully renovated to retain the character of an old house and its cornishness, we liked this a lot. The breakfasts were great, plenty of it and good stuff and the hosts were friendly and helpful from our first phone call to us leaving. There's parking outside which meant we could leave the car and walk in to St Ives it took about 5 mins or so. It's quite high up which means great views and so we used the little bus to come back which was free to us old bus pass holders. For a four star guest house there are some really nice touches and we were very impressed with the lovely conservatory which has a sauna and a brand new top of the range massage chair. As I have a bad back I was keen to have a go and was seriously impressed - worth a return visit just for the chair! We just felt right at home and comfortable and were sorry we only had a couple of days.

I stayed here with my husband for a week and we enjoyed the friendly atmosphere here. The room we had was cosy had wonderful views and was comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were fantastic and delicious with a great choice. We will definitely come back again next year with friends. We could park the car here and walk into St Ives which we liked a lot. The location was quiet and a bus could take you in and out which was convenient. The owners were very helpful and friendly you could feel at home there.
