The atmosphere is like the pubs of old but with good food as an add on.
Staff were good with an excellant guy behind the bar and the most amazing young lady "flitting" non-stop from table to table.
A good mix of local regulars and visitors.

Called in for a meal whilst in St Ives. The staff were so helpful and the food was good quality, and very reasonably priced - a definite hit, and the children's meals were very good value too, Id definitely go back!

Popped in here Easter Monday, not too busy and managed to order some food. The bar staff were friendly. Ordered a ploughmans lunch (in the evening) much to the amusement of the chef! Best ploughmns I've had. Would return.

We've sheltered in this family friendly pub a number of times.
It's always fairly busy and sometimes you need to wait a while for a table.
On our last visit, we ordered lunch. I was told there would be. Bit of a wait because they had taken a lot of orders. Our order arrived sooner than estimated, and whilst by no means a gastronomic revelation, everything was just as you'd want from a pub lunch. Well prepared, nicely cooked and reasonably priced.

What a well kept village type pub with friendly, helpful staff and the piano player doesn't stop playing when strangers walk in.
Just had a week in St Ives and not being made of money or fancying a fish dish, every evening, as many places sell we decided to try the Union Inn. We were made very welcome and had a lovely plentiful meal for 4 evenings along with a perfect pot of tea. Nothing was too much trouble for the gentleman behind the bar. The far end of the lounge where the raised floor is you will find loads of pictures of St Ives in times gone by and many things , thankfully, have stayed the same. We tried the steak pie, fish and chips, gammon and a few other dished as well between the 2 of us. All faultless and kind to the pocket Thank you Union Inn from both of us.
