“Just the place to be on a cold grey day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2012

Clean, cosy, warm traditional pub with a welcoming barman , good fire and comfortable chairs. The beer was in excellent condition ( Doom). The food delicious- trio of local fish, consisting of cod, monkfish and sole in a thermidor sauce wth new potatores and veg. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked good. There are 2 chalkboards, one with the dishes of the week and another with the specialities ( this was the trio of local fish) . We ended with a coffee and Irish whisky and we were sorry when it was time for us to go. The toilets were immaculate which is also always a good sign.

“Nice pub, decent food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2012

This is a good pub with plenty of choices of drinks and wine. There are tables and chair seating, a couple of window seats and there are two squashy leather sofas. The fish, chips and mushy peas from here is excellent and, in fact, much better than one or two of the chip shops in the town. I am a regular visitor to this pub when in St Ives and I have eaten here many times and will continue to do so. Good quality pub food whilst looking at the fascinating collection of old photos on the walls. It is a little on the dark side inside, however, this is a pretty traditional pub so only to be expected.

“Traditional pub with nice atmostphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2012 via mobile

Have been here a few times during our 2 week stay in St. Ives for lunch and it has always been lovely. Tasty food at very good prices, they allow well behaved dogs in too which was a godsend on a rainy day when we needed to eat.

“Heaving”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2012

This used to be a great little pub split in to two with old fisherman singing in the bar side..now ruined by the owners who have made it a sprawling open space.
