We had a 2 night, dinner, bed and breakfast stay with 2 treatments per booked in the spa, for my partners 40th birthday. The hotel is in a beautiful location and I had booked a sea view room. On arrival we were greeted in the parking bays outside of the hotel by a very friendly man who directed us to where we could park and assisted us into the hotel with our luggage. The ladies on reception were also very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is beautiful and the spa facilities stunning. The restaurant serves amazing food both for dinner (which is excellent value) and at breakfast, again with such hardworking staff who seem to be there from dusk to dawn but always are welcoming with a smile on their faces! The spa treatments were excellent with lovely, friendly therapists. Unfortunately the hotel, restaurant and spa were all let down by our room! It was very dated and in need of a refurb! The walls and carpets were stained (but otherwise clean), the bed was old and creaked at the slightest movement and the headboard loose. I also had paid extra to upgrade to a sea view room but the window was very dirty and spoilt the lovely view. I had paid for a bottle of champagne to be in our room on arrival for my partners birthday but I had to go to reception to request it, as it wasn't there ob arrival. This took the fizz out of the surprise! Whilst we felt the room let the rest of the hotel down we would without a shadow of a doubt return to The Harbour Hotel.

The staff in this hotel are what make it special along with the location of St Ives and the beautiful views. The room was light and airy and the bed was extremely comfortable but it did need decorating. However, everything else made up for that. It was spotlessly clean and offered everything we needed. We left walking on cloud 9 and looking forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: Room 104 was quiet with a beautiful view over the beach through a large bay window. The bed was so comfortable :)

Stayed here with a group of friends. Hotel far exceeded our expectations not least because the staff were without exception so obliging and friendly.
Beautiful, stylish hotel with stunning views . Exceptional value out of season. Hope to return soon with my family but will probably stay in one of the super luxurious apartments the hotel owns next door.

Room Tip: Refurbished sea view rooms or book a whole apartment for a week.

We needed to relax and recharge our batteries, and we certainly did. Friendly reception staff, valet parking, what a great beginning. The room view was amazing better than we were expecting, beds very comfortable, bathroom appeared to have been recently refitted and was very clean. The room was certainly tired, water marks on the wall and stained carpets, but we got this at a good price and there is obviously a rolling program of decorating in progress (very slight smell of paint in the stairwell) We ate in the restaurant on the first night and had a brilliant meal 2 courses for £20..excellent value. There was an excellent choice at breakfast...we didn't need any lunch that day. We ate out on the second night as we were meeting a friend at a local pub which has an acoustic night on a monday. We had a problem with garden lights shining straight in our window, (recently installed) but this was rapidly dealt with by the duty manager, Des. Highly recommend this hotel and would defiantly return again. Thanks to all at the hotel.

Room Tip: Worth upgrading to a sea view.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay; 2 nights on a voucher deal and the third night we added on. We stayed in a basic inland room as these had very recently been refurbished. We did view the sea view rooms but these seemed very dated compared to the refurbished ones so chose not to upgrade. However once the sea view ones have been we would definitely chose these as their views were outstanding. The rooms was spacious with plenty of storage space. The bathroom was fully fitted and also refurbished. The on,y fault in the room was that it was that the lighting was very poor so putting make-up on was a little hit and miss! There was an additional light over the bathroom sink which unfortunately wasn't working nor was it repaired during our stay despite it being reported. The beds, duvet and pillows were amazing and we had wonderful nights' sleep. We had breakfast each morning and always managed to get a front table, next to the window so had a fantastic view of sea and beach. There was plenty of choice of breakfast; cereals, juices, toast, jams, fruit, yoghurt a, pastries, meats, cheeses all followed by a choice of hot breakfasts. The food was cooked fresh and was very good. We also couldn't resist the temptation of one of their cream teas on our second afternoon. Probably one of the best we've ever had. We ate twice in the restaurant on an evening and again had fabulous meals; everything was cooked fresh and to our liking. There was plenty of choice on the menus. The portions were a good size and we couldn't possibly have eaten another mouthful by the time we had finished. The restaurant was busy especially our last night but the staff were very apologetic and to be honest the atmosphere was very relaxing it really didn't bother us at all that we had to wait a while for our food. We used the spa a couple of times and both times it was busy and we didn't initially get a lounger. The treatments were good and the whole ambience was very relaxing. The staff here are a credit to the hotel and, in my mind, they made our stay, from the porter who kindly sorted out our bags and parked the car, to the reception staff who always answered any queries we had pleasantly and without fuss, to Sammy and Melissa in the restaurant and bar (their naturally friendly persona was lovely). The hotel had undergone major refurbishment and everything had been done tastefully; not too modern just in touch with the building. The views from the restaurant are amazing and breakfast now back home is just not the same.Thank you, we will be back again very soon.

Room Tip: All very good but once the sea view rooms have been refurbished these are a must
