“One of our favourite bookshops.”

Reminded of this excellent place while listening to BBC 4's Open Book - Literary Landscapes - Cornwall, this afternoon when Mariella Frostrup was talking to author Patrick Gale and Ron Johns owner of the St Ives Bookseller. It's one of those shops where not only are the majority of books about St Ives and its people but it also does a roaring trade in Novels of all classes and condition because holidays are when a lot of people still read. Ron is a personable skilled guy with his finger on the pulse and he has made this shop thrive as an excellent Indie which always has something or several things you will want.

“Lovely little shop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013 via mobile

Really nice place with a wide range is such a small place, lovely service and shows why st.Ives is such a nice place. Bonus it was quite busy which is good to see in a book shop nowadays!

“Perfect for this holiday town.”

Just the type of bookshop you need when you are staying or passing through. Pleasant and friendly space but most of all a skillfully selected esoteric selection to cover all tastes and moods. Every member of our family found a couple of books to keep them going.

“Should be on the St Ives pages.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013

I like this shop. I am very surprised that it is on the general Cornish listing rather than more specifically in the St Ives attraction section. I like the shop, just as I do it's sister branch in Falmouth. This is a family run independent bookseller. They are accomplished in using smallish spaces to provide thoughtfully selected stocks of wide ranging but necessary and enticing books. The shop in St Ives has been well fitted with solid oak shelves and a slate floor, blending perfectly with the old street. This is a friendly efficient shop which adds significantly to the facilities for locals, visitors and seasonal tourists in St Ives.

Tripadvisor, please add the word St Ives to the listing address and make sure that the shop is added to the shopping/attractions section for the town of St Ives itself.
