“Warmly welcoming”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2013

We live a brisk 40 minute walk, or a short drive from the Halsetown Inn so this is a great addition to the local restaurant scene. The recent refurbishment by the new owners has transformed the place into a warm, welcoming space with interesting decor and wall graphic art.
Staff are professional, friendly and know what they are doing, and the food is always interesting and varied. Most produce is locally sourced, organic and excellent quality. It's a great venue for Sunday lunch or an evening meal. The Boxing Day and New Year's Day brunches were superb, the perfect antidote to the seasonal fare.
It's a brilliant addition to the local gastro pubs and the pricing is spot on, long may it continue.

“Great gastro pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

Went with family on Boxing Day to celebrate my birthday. What a great menu, no turkey or Christmas fare in sight. Lovely atmosphere. Veggies well cared for. Wine good. Only downside, real ales are not great, but will not stop us using this pub more & more

“Superb evening on Christmas Eve”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 25, 2012 via mobile

We are down here for Christmas and decided to have supper at the much recommended Halestown Inn. We found bags of atmosphere and the "dog friendly" rule proved as helpful as it was unusual. Our waitress, Marie, couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and a possible menu problem for two "veggies" was averted with some judicious juggling of dishes. In fact my only possible criticism would be the somewhat reduced choice for those of veggie persuasion. The meal itself was all-round excellent and the relaxed atmosphere made for a lovely evening. Highly recommended.

“The perfect Christmas Eve meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2012

Having loved Blas Burgerworks we had high expectations and were not in the least disappointed. An inventive menu with great local produce and a lovely wine Iist to match. The atmosphere is warm and friendly with a neat balance between country pub and restaurant. Ad all a simple 40 minute walk from St Ives. Loved it. Great start to Christmas.

“The winter home of Blas burgers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2012

Halsetown Inn, 13 minutes by bus from St Ives is the sister to Blas burgers (shut in the winter). It's just lovely. Open fires. Great food. Dog friendly. Nuff said. Would be great as a restaurant with rooms.
