“A dining experience not to be missed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2012

This is a great restaurant with very efficient and friendly staff- the owners! The chef is a genius! Great attention to detail with a fantastic ability to create flavours that are both complimentary and interesting. It was a quiet evening and by 9. 30 we had the place to ourselves.
We will return! Highly recommended

“Excellent Dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

Having eaten in the majority of fine restaurants in St Ives this was a long over due visit to Seagrass and we were pleasantly surprised. From the warm welcome of the staff to the agreeable ambience of the restaurant. The Menu provides some interesting innovative dishes and gets away from some of the samey menus that exist in other local restauarants. The execution of the dishes was excellent from starters of Scallops & King Prawns served In Shells with a Chorizo Broth and a Haddock Fishcake with curry oil and flaked Scotch Egg leading onto a superb piece of the freshest Black Bream with a Vanilla & Shrimp Sauce and Sticky Crispy Pork Belly that just fell away and melted in the mouth. The Flavour and textures created were superb and we shall return in the very near future.

“Hidden gem in the centre of St.Ives”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

A few steps up from the harbour it's not that hidden, but is definitely a gem.

I went there on a recommendation and was not disappointed. Every element of our meal was perfect from the scallops to the belly pork to the personalised dessert (it was our anniversary). The staff were very welcoming and friendly (without being too pushy).

It is a little pricier than other restaurants nearby, but then other restaurants don’t come close to Seagrass.

The only negative is that there isn't a view of the harbour...but who really looks at the view when you have great company and fantastic food?!

“Excellent meal in St Ives”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

This restaurant lived up to expectations from the reviews on trip advisor . We booked before we arrived but having walked around the town were glad with our choice . Our French waitress was delightful and efficient. The food was beautifully presented . My scallops were delicious and the pork belly yummy. Plum tart tatin was excellent for sharing.. There were plenty of things on the menu I could have happily eaten . Having eaten at Raymond Blanc and Rick Stein in the last couple of weeks we were delighted to find Seagrass in st Ives .

“Did not live up to the hype...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

This was sold to us as fantastic food and service which unfortunately we did not experience. We arrived on time for our reservation and did not have a table ready for us. The service was very slow all night, and the food was nice but nothing to write home about especially compared to our meal the night before at Alba.
