“A cinema with character.”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

We went to see Pacific rim the other night and soon as we stepped in my girlfriend thought the sound wouldn't be good but the picture and sound were brilliant. They don't do orange Wednesdays but for £6 a ticket you can't complain. Fair enough the seats aren't brand new, the walls need a bit of paint and the screen isn't the biggest but it's got so much character a modern cinema can't give. You get exactly what you would expect of a small cinema in a small coastal town. Do not expect an odeon! Why would you want one!? It fits perfectly into the vision of the town. Genuinely a great cinema that should never be lost.

“Cinema needs a make over”
Reviewed July 10, 2013 via mobile

The cinema smells and is so dated its awful. It's like a time warp!!! The only redeeming feature it has is the friendly staff .

“Brilliant retro cinema, at a fraction of the price of normal admission”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

I wish I lived here so I could become a regular! £6 for an adult ticket, compared to the £9+ cineworld prices. Has a great initimate feel as there are only 3 screens, and compact seating areas. Ok, so the seats and general decor is in poor quality, but when the lights go down it doesn't matter, brilliant sound and picture quality.

“A True survivor”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

This cinema was erectyed in 1939.It has subsequently been divided into 3 screens. It is on digital but it has the last surviving 35mm projector in the box, albeit unused. This is a valuable asset for this community and for the tourists particularly when it rains. There are many towns in the UK who would love to be in the position of a town as small as St ives in still having a cinema. So those people who moan about the state of this cinema should reflect on that.As a member of the CTA my view is that any cinema is far better than none.Whilst hardly the Odeon Leicester Square it is still a reasonable place to see films and well run.

“Quirky and excellent lunch time value”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

On old fashioned cinema - always visit when we're in St Ives. The lunch time showing is amazing value and a god send on rainy days.
