“The best fish and chips in st Ives”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2013 via mobile

Its not like anyother fish a chip shop...the menu has battered fish, grilled fish, squid, scampi, chicken goujouns, sea bass mackerel and lots of other tasty picks! When ever im in st ives a have to pop in to get a portion of their battered squid and homemade sweet chilli dip, it's so good. Also I have eaten in the Resturant quite a few times. The staff a friendly, you get served promptly even tho its alway busy, and when you food comes its never a disappointment. Would highly recommend

“On Par with Steins”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

Evening meal with the side dishes of fried squid and battered prawns with dips as starter, Prosecco wine, grilled fish (waiting staff recommended Hadddock - amazing delicate taste) and chips followed by desserts of apple crumble and chocolate brownie with clotted cream!! Seafood and fish were amazing - so fresh and tasty; and the wine was lovely with the fish & chips :-) Service was friendly, prompt and knowledgable about the menu - really helpful. Eat here - you'll love it!

“Best Fish & Chips”

Our family, five of us enjoyed a lunch time special on a Saturday. We were attracted by the look of the restaurant, the special offer advertised on their boards & that it had much custom.
Clean, tidy, not crammed, modern, high-chairs available, great friendly service, a brilliant fryer as we had no fat/oil drenching our plates, tasty chunky chips, quality fish & super mushy peas with a twist! LOVED IT!

“Yummy yummy food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

Definitely some of the best fish and chips I've had (up there with Rick Stein's fish and chips), been here three times with my boyfriend, we both loved it. Try the squid, it's delicious! The chefs put flakes of deep fried sweet potato on top of the food, sounds a bit weird but it tastes so good. The only thing I would say is if you have a side salad beware because it was a lot of onion in it! It's lovely, but you may need some mints afterward! The homemade brownies are to die for. The waitresses are really friendly and the service is very quick. The building looks out over the harbor by the lifeboat slip, and it's very big and airy. This place is going to be a must every time we return to St Ives now. It's really good value for money, you come away feeling lovely and full. You can also have take-away from here if you want to sit outside and make the most of the weather. If you go off-season they do a special offer dish at a cheaper price, when we went last November it was cod & chips, with a cup of tea and a slice of bread and butter for £7.

“Sharing platter....yes please!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

I don't like fish & chips!! But at the Harbour Fish & Chips restaurant it's different. Its posh fish and chips! Not a plate piled high with fat and carbs but beautifully presented beautifully cooked fish....all kinds cooked all ways with a good variety of extras to tag on..not just mushy peas!! We always go for the sharing platter and swop squid for scallops....so you get fillets of fish in batter...crispy, scallops, crab cakes and prawn skewers with really lovely crisp chips and dipping sauces. Great value! And the restaurant itself doesn't look like a chippy cafe...it's a restaurant....right on the harbour!
