We stayed for 3 nights at the end of January 2013 and had an excellent time. The hotel is set in beautiful gardens and is a 10 minute walk to St Ives. We stayed in one of the cottage rooms, it had excellent sea and beach views of St Ives. The room was large, clean, warm and very comfortable. All the staff were friendly, especially so in the dining room. The receptionist gave us a very warm welcome when we first arrived and showed us to our room - very good service. As the food was so delicious we had an evening meal each night in the hotel - it was excellent and good value for money. The open fire reception area was very welcoming.
We will most definitely plan to stay again.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the cottage rooms and it was excellent - a short walk away from the main hotel...

Luckily we booked a 1 night break through groupon for us and another couple as a surprise - it was an even bigger surprise to know the other couple had done the same. so the 4 of us had 2 nights at this fantastic location. it was a brilliant deal. We expected to have a "cheaper" version menu but this was not the case. The food and choice was absolutely fantastic, the rooms were well furnished, clean and comfortable. The whole hotel gave off a welcoming air with liitle snug rooms etc. which we took advantage off with a game of scrabble. The swimming pool and facilites were brilliant and used during our 2 day stay. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and very professional. It is a fantastic location both for walking to St Ives and for driving around Cornwall. We would definately love to visit again.

We stayed for 2 nights in late January on a Groupon deal, and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The room was large with a great sea view, and well heated. Strangely the wash basin was in a separate room to the toilet and bath/shower, but it wasn't much of an inconvenience. Everything was very clean and the bed very comfortable. We enjoyed the facilities in the small leisure centre, and the attendant there was extremely friendly and helpful. The pool was the warmest I have been in in this country and very nice indeed.
The restaurant was excellent, the staff being polite and helpful and the food beautifully cooked and presented.
Our only gripe was that our welcome by one of the managers was rather cool and we wondered if we were seen as "2nd class" guests because we were using the Groupon deal.
Other than that, we had absolutely no complaints and loved our stay.

Room Tip: If you have mobility issues, mention it when booking as our room was accessed down a long flight of...

Beautiful surroundings, friendly staff, excellent facilities and delicious food made for a truly memorable stay.

The restaurant menu tempted us away from our usual favourite haunts in the centre of town, and the wine choices recommended by Micheal were a real treat.

A five hour walk along the steep coast path from Zennor made the pool and sauna all the more welcome. Best of all though are the views from this lovely hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

We had a lovely stay as part of a groupon offer. the rooms are clean and our sea view was beautiful. it was obvious the they had recently redecorated and the rooms looked modern and fresh.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with a good sense of humour. We had one evening meal and it was great to have local ingredients included and a good variety of options within the set menu. Breakfast which is so often just a continental breakfast was so special. Cooked options included full english, salmon and scrambled eggs, smoked haddock and soda farl. Their cream teas are good as well.
We had the option to use the pool, spa and sauna and we did. The sauna was great but the spa was part of the swimming pool which I found too cold to sit in. It would be better as a warmer, separate jucuzzi. The pool temperature was fine for swimming.
It took us about 10 minutes to walk into the town and it was in a good location to get out and about around the area. Easy parking was a bonus too.

I would love to stay again and we intend to when we're next in the area.

Room Tip: our standard sea room had a more than adequate view.
