we have been to this hotel before and stayed in a few different rooms and can honestly say the views at this hotel is magnificent looking across the bay of st.ives. the bar and rooms are all very clean and the staff are very friendly .our room only had a shower and no bath which was a little disappointing but the bed was very comfy and fresh.the rooms are quite small and compact and are a little pricey for what you get but it,s st.ives so it,s a treat. I will go back to this hotel as it,s very central to the town and local shops. the breakfast buffet and a good English fry up is brill to set you up for the day.

Room Tip: 29 with a balcony to sit outside if the weather is nice for a evening glass of wine and watch the su...

This hotel is in an excellent location right in town on the rocky headlands to the west of Porthminster beach but unfortunately there is no drop off for cars or taxis. The nearest would be the train station car park above the hotel and you have to lug your luggage down a flight of stairs to get to the hotel main entrance. Similarly for the rooms you will have to negotiate narrow staircase with your luggage. Room is very small and so is the bathroom but it is nice and clean with good toiletries. Value for money hotel and charming ambience.

I stayed at this hotel as a solo traveller as my husband had to work at the last minute. I was a bit apprehensive but this hotel is very welcoming and they looked after me really well. I needn't have worried. My room was perfect with spectacular views. I laid in bed at night just watching the sea and the lights twinkling across the bay. The balcony was shared but was partitioned off from your neighbours. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The staff were all excellent, very friendly and helpful and the food was wonderful and breakfast first class. The view from the bar is just WOW. The hotel can allocate a parking space in the station car park which although more expensive than the council day rate does at least guarantee you a space when you return from a day out. I even got to see the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh on their historic visit as they passed by the hotel! It is well placed for the town with only a couple of minutes walk to the town centre. The only down side to this hotel is that it is a little on the pricey side and the noise from other rooms which I don't suppose can really be helped. Would I return - absolutely.

I've just spent a wonderful night at the PEDNOLVA. The location is breathtaking with aspects across to St ives Harbour & the lighthouse at Godrevy, it has got to be one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed.

The staff are very friendly & certainly enhance the holiday feel. The breakfast which we enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the beautiful porthminster beach was delicious, local produce which looked and tasted wonderful. I very much look forward to the next visit!

Room Tip: Pay the extra and get a sea view!

Great location and superb views. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant in the hotel is worth a visit. Our room was spacious, clean and had an amazing view. Would definitely return here. Close to everything you could need... Shops, restaurants etc.

The Pedn Olva, is set on the cliffs overlooking the bay. It is modern and very clean. The room was compact but quite comfortable. We had a shared balconybut it had screens to section off your own area.Jane on reception was particulary helpful. The food was excellent. The drinks were quite expensive, a Vodka and tonic costing £4.50and nearly £4 for a cider

We chose this hotel for our 30th Anniversary due to its location.
We booked by phone and the young girl was very pleasant and helpful, which gave a good first impression. We arrived at 12.00 and the room was not ready due to our early arrival. So we headed to the bar area. The view when entering the bar simply makes you say WOW!
We had a balcony room and were able to sunbath looking at the amazing sight of Porthminster beech.
The rooms are very clean and well maintained. They might be a bit small, but are perfectly adequate.
We ate in the restaurant and the food was of a high quality with excellent service.
We paid the Hotel's £8.00 per day car park fee. It seemed high as its only £6.40 per day in the car park itself. However unless you can arrive before 11.00 am it’s likely to be full. Also with the Hotels reserved space, you can leave the car park knowing you will have a space on your return.
Overall an ideal hotel for a special celebration.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony overlooking Porthminster beech
