We visited this beach as the daughter wanted to try out body boarding. If you don't have any of the equipment there are stalls where you can rent out the equipment and also have learns in body boarding and surf boarding.

There is some restaurants/cafes on the beach front and also toilets for you to use.

The beach is lovely and clean and huge when the tide is out. Lovely place to sit and relax, soak up the sun and have a great time with friends and family.

This is a nice family friendly beach, great to sunbathe or swim on. Lifegaurds on duty till nearly the end of October. Bars and cafes close by and an added bonus got a visit from a friendly seal whilst in swimming.
Can get some decent surf, beach is large at low tide.

We paid a very short visit to Porthmeor Beach while on holiday in the town. Out of season it was clean and inviting although the presence of dogs on the sand was disappointing.

Spent a week here when it was VERY WINDY. This didn’t put us off though.
Wow! Magnificent.
Fabulous sand. Lots of surfing activity to watch.
Great walks along the gorgeous sand.
Super cafe right on the beach.
Couldn’t ask for more. ( apart from less wind!)

Best beach in Cornwall where you can see the most amazing sunsets !! Downside it is popular especially during school holidays and it gets packed. There is a real problem with people getting there early picking the best spots setting up a wind break encampment. Thereby reserving a plot as they go back for breakfast and roam the town before taking up their pitch which they keep for the day. It's the towel on a deck chair syndrome but magnified. The problem was so big this year that there needs to be some form of control !!! Off the peak season it's no problem
