“Lovely beach with lots of good eateries near by”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2013

We visited this beach in September 2013. There are lots of rocks to clamour over with rock pools to explore. The beach itself is and beautiful. The sea is clear and clean, no problems with paddling here. There are many good cafes and restaurants within three minutes walk of the beach as the town starts on the edge of it. No long walk to the car park here. Great for all the family and big enough to cater for everyone without it ever being crowded. Will definitely visit again.

“Attractive beach cafe”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

This cafe is in a lovely spot with beautiful sea views. Some of the tables are in lovely alcoves. The staff were helpful but the food was a bit hit and miss. The fish was cooked ok but the meat was dried out and the chips were indifferent. Perhaps it was just a bad day when we visited.

“Sand, surf & a great cafe & views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

Lovely beach on the Tate Gallery side, a short walk from the harbour. Sandy bay very popular with surfers. Great views to the Island and on the beach walkway a lovely café. Nearby parking is only for 3 hours but there is a park & ride that drops off in the town square near the harbour. This starts at 10 am.

“What a find”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

Brilliant, a lot of people fail to go around to this side of ST Ives right opposite the Tate but this little restaurant is superb. Right on the beach overlooking all the surfers. The food,we had tapas, were exceptional. the staff very helpful. Gets very busy but if the weather is good then their is plenty of outside space.

“Beautiful setting with delicious food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2013

We enjoyed a lovely dinner on the beach at the Porthmeor. Along with main dinner courses, they also offer a delicious selection of tapas. My daughter and I opted for a number of them and they were wonderful! Be sure to save room for dessert!
