“Ultimate Chill Zone!!”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Porthmeor Beach is just round the corner from my house so I get to see it in all its glory all year round. So...for surfers its the place to be, its where the waves are, its the surfers hangout. For families, in spring/summer its safe, clean and fun...when the tides right out the beach is huge...people in the sea, playing cricket on the beach, bbqing at sunset. This is the place to go for the sunsets...its almost a religion! Even if there are lots of people there its never crowded. People set up little camps of windbreakers and bbqs or just line the walls of the beachside houses and have private parties that link up and become bigger ones....its all about wine/beer, beach fires, bbqs, chilling right out and seeing where the night leads you. And when its rough its full on invigorating!!!! A photographers paradise!!! There's great facilities as well.....the beach cafe does great food, drinks ice creams etc and the Porthmeor cafe is well known for its food.....and its outside pods which are just the best place to settle down for an evening of tapas undercover but open to the elements....and the full on view. My fave place!!!

“Lovely sandy beach”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

Good views, plenty of space, rocks for exploring at both ends and plenty of available ice cream (in season). Parking expensive and limited so don't bother!
