So much packed into a small space, turn around and there is an amazing view at every angle. She obviously loved the place and this is reflected in the spirit of it now,

What an amazing place, a little bit hidden in the back streets of St Ives. The exhibition downstairs about the life and times of this amazing artist was really interesting, then to go upstairs and be able to see her work so up close was brilliant. What made it all the more special was it was her own house. To see the photos in juxtaposition to the actual room was fascinating. Seeing her workroom in the garden, like she had just stepped out, I found it really moving. The gardens are beautiful, even now as were approaching autumn, and a perfect setting for the larger sculptures. What a fascinating body of work in such a beautiful setting.

I was aware you can purchase a ticket for both the Tate and this gallery, but what I would have taken advantage of if I'd known sooner was the 7 day Art Pass that includes entrance to other galleries in the Penwith area such as Penlee House and Newlyn Art Gallery.

Have been to the Tate on lots of occasions but for some reason had never been here before. What an amazing place the atmosphere the staff and most of all the collection of her work. There was a guy working upstairs interacting and being relaxed but helpful and a lady from the Tate came for a tour and she was also so relaxed but informative. We have a wonderful time, a drizzly day enhanced the work outside it...it loved the clouds and rain and welcomed you to touch and look at them. Superb!

Visited the Barbara Hepworth museum yesterday, we arrived in time to join the free guided tour. The guide ,Jane ,was excellent and gave a good overview. The garden is inspiring as the sculptures in the garden are those that Barbara chose to keep and place where they are in the garden, such a sense of connection. There was another guide in the garden who told us lots more interesting things and pointed out connections between the sculptures and the trees and planting. Children would love this as the sculptures are very tactile, lots of paths to explore.

we just love making the pilgrimage to these beautiful peaceful gardens, with sculptures that are transporting. It is great that the museum encourages us to engage with the sculptures, with a family explorer pack and you can actually touch some of the works. wonderful. as a peaceful as a chapel.
