Owner description: Tate St Ives features work by iconic 20th century artists who lived and worked in the town, including Alfred Wallis, Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth, demonstrating the role of St Ives in the story of modern art. This is combined with a new programme of large-scale seasonal shows, beginning with sculptor Rebecca Warren’s first major UK exhibition.

I always thought of the Tate as displaying the best in art, but on both occasions I have visited I have been very disappointed in the exhibits, best thing about the Tate is the building

The location is great and the building is lovely. I just dont get modern art. We had been told that there were great views from the cafe but they are on the terrace which is closed in winter!

The experience varies according to what is exhibited. I have seen some masterpieces and some trash. The location and the gallery are sublime.

Very 'modern' some exhibits very stange, go to the lower floor and listen to the DVD on the headphones for some interetsing background and info on the exhibits. Go to the top floor cafe and enjoy a spectacular view!
