“fish & chips”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

The best fish & chips we had that were not taken out. Replaces mushy peas which we don't like with salad. Had extra sauce. Polite staff. good service.

“Lots of flavor”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

I don't dine out for sustenance, It's not as if I've spent the day walking behind a plow. Eating out is about taste for me. Scarlet concentrate on flavor. I've eaten here a couple of times now and have been very pleased with staff, food and wine on both occasions. Looking for an excuse to go again.

“Excellent Light Lunch Spot”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

Four of us ate in here and each had a different dish. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food and recommend the prawn salad and courgette fritters. Good coffee to end the meal and all in a nice setting.

“.. a really talented chef ..”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

It was a Bank Holiday week in a very hot Cornwall, with St Ives packed to a shuffle and Carbis Bay beach having standing room only. So, what a surprise to come across Scarlet Wines, sited unobtrusively on a roundabout in Levant Saltings, passed by so many cars on the way to the St Ives ‘park and ride’, and seemingly overlooked. And that is a pity, because – despite its name, this place sells food also and has a cook that can really cook. The menu is based on a tapas idea with a number of (not that) small plates making up a meal – three for £18 constituted a sizeable dinner.

Not one dish was a disappointment – a pea concoction was thick and delicious, lamb koftas were rich and tasty, then there was mackerel, and scallops, and crab, and beans with chilli - perhaps just a little too much chilli for my taste, but I’m old. The meal with a good but not expensive bottle of wine and desserts was just a delight – and so much better than the expensive Good Food Guide listed restaurant in St Ives.

Scarlet Wines – with restaurant comes highly recommended. Look out for it – but not on the day when I’ll be back! I suspect that this is a restaurant that will soon be booked out. A great chef and attentive service, what more could you ask?
