Becks does not take reservations, although notification of parties over 9 people is recommended. The main selling point and one of the major credentials is that Becks offer gluten free options. “Remember to shout your order”
Reviewed May 13, 2013 via mobile

Beautiful food worth a visit with put a doubt. The only down side is that you have to shout your order if its something that's not to popular, we do this in local chippies however they aren't full of people :( defo worthy of a visit though lovely cod n chips and reasonable prices

“Superb”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

To sit in and enjoy freshly cooked fish and chips - a treat. The only downside (if you want to call it that) is the waiting time for a table. Beautiful food, lovely atmosphere. We will be back!

“Nice 'local' chippy”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

Very nice chippy, doing a roaring trade. Didn't eat in the restaurant side, preferring to have take-away. Good selection on the menu and portion sizes are very generous. A full portion of chips would easily share between 2 when had with a fish (which is also huge).

“Fish & chips done just right”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

Having been recommended this restaurant, we wanted to try it. Warm reception from staff, light and area bar/waiting area, obviously very busy despite early in the season, it was clearly appreciated by its customers. Starter options were reasonably wide, with an excellent help-yourself salad bowl available. The portions of fish and chips were generous, very nicely cooked, with crispy batter and without any taint over overused fat. Washrooms were in excellent condition, and newly refurbished too. The only two downsides were that we were not able to fit in any dessert - despite some tantalising choices on display - and the restaurant was very hot.

“Reliably excellent cod'n'chips”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

We loved this restaurant. The bar is comfy while you wait to be seated, and the hostess Jackie is lovely ready to have a chat. The food is reliable. The chips are amazing, such a generous portion too. I tried the salad bar twice and it had a wide variety of salads and raw vegetables. However it does not appear on the menu so unless you ask you wont know you can order it. Its £4.95 for a side salad if memory serves.
You can order a steak, but why would you when the cod and chips are so delicious.
In April they were open Thursday to Sunday, but this should change soon.
