“Poor dining experience”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Started with prawn cocktail - smallest shrimps ever seen (probably tinned) with lettuce leaves stuffed into small glass. Steak undercooked, salmon overcooked. Complained to waitress who said she would tell chef. Very bad dining experience.

“Don't eat here! Awful from start to finish!”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

If you would like to eat somewhere with awful service, average food (and that's being generous!) and incompetent staff then the lodge at Balnoon  is your place!
We had stopped here in view of having the Sunday roast they had offered but once in found out they had sold out. So we ordered just 3 simple main meals. After a wait of 45mins we had to go up and ask about the food only to get a poor apology.
If you experience all the above then the 'ever so friendly' waitress may offer you a free desert (which will arrive late) or a measly 10% off your bill.
I wish it was only us that experienced this but several other families also encountered problems, some of whom had very young children and weren't served their food until 9pm.
Overall it was a horrendous experience and we won't be going there again! I recommend you follow the same instructions.

“Worst experience of food and service ever. Dont bother. Drive on!”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

We give the Balnoon nil point! Such a pity as we had been there almost 2 years ago and the food was excellent. Obviously a different chef and well downgraded food. Carvery used to be brilliant. Now cold, unappetising to say the least. Combination of overcooked and undercooked (eyes rolling)!

Total lack of customer orientation. Staff couldnt be more disinterested.

DRIVE ON!

“Excellent carvery”
Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

I have eaten the Sunday carvery here several times over the last few years and have always found the food to be excellent. My last visit was no exception, everyone enjoyed a lovely carvery and was very full at the end. Great location, friendly staff top notch food.
