Managed to get a table for lunch, the food looked amazing and with positive reviews its no wonder it was in high demand.

Drinks were refreshing and full of flavour, I can recommend the very berry smoothie. The food was fresh, tasty and of very high quality.

Service was excellent, we started on an outside table and after spotting a rain cloud the staff helped us move into a snug which became free.

Staff very attentive, not rushed or left waiting. Menu was good value. Tried to go back but too many people know a good thing when they see it...

This is a really exceptional place to eat and drink. It has a mediterranean approach so the coffee/juice/smoothies/milkshakes are equally as nice as the alcoholic drinks on offer. It is informal with friendly service and serves very high quality food and drink and is above Porthmeor beach. It's a stunning setting.

We had tapas both times we visited and every dish was absolutely delicious. The attention to detail is outstanding and the flavours are superb. It's the kind of place you want to come back to so you can try everything on the menu. The desserts are also first rate. We had the churros and chocolate (the lightest, fluffiest churros I've tasted), the lemon and raspberry posset (absolutely lovely) and the chocolate tart and cherries - also fantastic.

We've eaten in lots of good places during our holiday in St Ives (Alba, the Crab & Rum Shack and Porthminster Cafe) but I can honestly say that the Porthmeor Cafe is THE BEST.

We went to the Porthmeor Cafe last night and we both agreed that we couldn't think of a place anywhere in the world where we have had a better meal. We opted for the tapas menu, and each dish we had was absolutely delicious (the prawns and the squid being our favourites) - the setting is breathtaking (worth waiting for a table with a beach view) and the service is impeccable. Six tapas dishes, one dessert and 2 cheeses, with a bottle of wine and 2 large amarettos came to £88. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!

We had lunch here. I wanted to try everything I saw in this cafe, the quality of food was excellent. My only regret is that we couldn't get in again for our evening meal, due to the popularity of this place.

We ate here on the first night of our honeymoon. We shared 7 tapas dishes, a bottle of wine, cheese and port and it came to under £60.

All the food was fantastic, especially the aubergine and halloumi dishes.

We made a reservation for one of the heated pods so we could watch the sunset and then stay outside as night fell.

We would highly recommend the Porthmeor Cafe.
