Dined here in 2011 and again this week. Staff are most welcoming and friendly and the view over one of Cornwall's most beautiful beaches ensures an enjoyable visit, on top of which the excellent food is a bonus. Choose form tapas or more substantial main courses. We visited twice and highlights included Moroccan chicken, bouillabaise, squid with chorizo, whitebait, an enormous T-bone steak, and red prawn curry. There is a good range of wine and for the beer drinkers a local St Ives ale (Boilers) which is recommended. Looking forward to returning in October. Best to book in the evening as understandably becoming very popular.

Great food and drink, good service. We booked a booth, which was cosy and kept us warm. Great view of the sea and sunset.

Had a great meal here last evening in one of the heated outside booths after dropping in for coffee and loving it. Staff were all friendly and we enjoyed a lovely tapas meal overlooking the stunning (if a bit drizzly beach). Much nicer outside than in the rather crammed in inside cafe. A memorable meal.

Plan to include with your visit to Tate St. Ives a delectable lunch at Porthmeor Beach Cafe. Overlooking picture perfect Porthmeor Beach and across the street from Tate St. Ives, this is the setting for a leisurely luncheon before or after your visit to the museum, rain or shine. The soup of the day with locally baked bread is a dependable delight, steamed Cornish mussels are superb, and potted prawns with toasted sourdough and salad leaves might make your visit to Tate St. Ives an afterthought.

This cafe has been our home for the week. Situated right over the beach, there is nowhere better to sit and watch the changing seascape, whatever the weather. The team of staff are lovely - always enthusiastic, friendly & efficient. We have eaten dinner here - superb savoury & dessert tapas dishes; breakfast - wonderful talleggio, mushroom & herb omelette, and afternoon tea.Try & book a heated pod for dinner so you feel as though you are in the open.Blankets are thoughtfully provided. We have loved everything we have eaten. Thoroughly recommended.
