Have just returned from St Ives and enjoyed breakfast at Rhubarb every morning. Nice food, very pleasant staff and a very relaxed atmosphere. Will be returning in the spring and expect to eat my breakfasts here.

We had a couple of lunches in Rhubarbs. The baguettes we chose were stuffed full of filings and very fresh. The prices were very reasonable too. Certainly recommend this place for people wanting to dine out in st ives at lunch time. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Regular visitor to St Ives and had been to Rhubarbs some months before when it was excellent. Can only assume it has changed hands since then. The waitress was disinterested and didn't offer condiments or check if everything was okay with the food. The toilets and staris up to them were filthy. We ordered chicken and bacon salad in a bowl and a tuna and prawn stirfry. The chicken and bacon salad comprised cos lettuce, cucumber and tomato with a chicken breast and 3 slices of bacon dumped on top. There was no attempt to present it in an appealing way and no seasoning or dressing. It appeared thrown together with no thought whatsoever and certainly could not be described as restaurant food. The stir fry was no better just a mass of brown sludge on top of some cos lettuce. They seemed to be going for an approach of quantity over quality. Overall a boring, bland meal in a dirty restaurant with poor service. In a tourist attraction like St Ives this is just plain lazy as they are clearly relying on high footfall to give them enough business rather than repeat custom. Hopefully they won't last long and someone with a passion for food can restore Rhubarbs reputation.

We went for a couple of meals at Rhubarb, the first time it wasn't too bad but they had run out of alot of drinks and a few dishes off the menu but what we did have was quite good. We then went again a couple of days later and we had a similar experience with the drinks however the food this time took ages to be served and once it did arrive we were all very disappointed. The Steak and Ale pie pastry was so hard we couldn't cut it, the mushroom stroganoff didn't have too many mushrooms in it and the desserts were still frozen. It was a shame as the staff are very friendly and made you feel very welcome.

My son loved his roast dinner and it did look lovely but the other food was disappointing. To be fair it was all freshly cooked and cooked well. But actually too much on the plates and although all freshly cooked and fresh veg. used the salad was very much a pile of iceberg with some cucumber etc.. thrown in. I like a bit less on my plate with a bit more flavouring leaves used - it is a side afterall.
