Outstanding seafood - this is an absolute gem of a find! We will definitively be back. Beautiful fish and an excellent wine list, with genuinely friendly service.

“Another superb restaurant in St Ives”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

First visit to this relatively new restaurant, and pleasantly surprised. Unassuming exterior but really nice space inside with well chosen art (including works by the chef's artist mother and ceramics from the Leach Pottery). Superb starters - crab claws in a rich garlic butter, salmon gravadlax-style. Mains equally good- perfect monkfish with kale and a delicious spicy daal; succulent pork belly with dauphinois potato. A good selection of desserts and friendly attentive service. Will definitely return when next in Cornwall.

“A proper seafood restaurant”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

Surprisingly it is not easy to find authentic seafood restaurants in St Ives .Many are overpriced and serve ordinary food. This is a gem.A great welcome. The chefs are on show and they deliver.Tasty fresh seafood served with a smile. We had 3 coures .All lovely and well balanced food. The monkfish was superb and do not miss the desserts. Will definitely return next year.

“Worth the wait”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

The Black Rock does close for the season, so we've been unlucky when we've visited St Ives out of season. However, this time round we booked a table and got to sample the delights of the food and the friendly staff. The decor is wonderful. I could have taken home most of the art there (most by Judy Symons, St Ives artist). I had crab claws to start and pork belly for main. Both wonderful. The crackling on the pork was wafer thin and really crispy, like it had been ironed flat! My husband had the mussels to start and monkfish for main. Dishes were nice and generous with the vegetables, something many restaurants give as a gesture of colour rather than an integral part of the meal.

The Black Rock is my favourite kind of restaurant. Friendly service, unpretentious interior and incredible food.
