My partner and I planned, at short notice, a weekend trip to Cornwall, wanting to stop over in St Ives on the Saturday night. All of the B&Bs I contacted were accepting a minimum 2 night stay. This was initially the case with Beechwood but Jan later called me back to say that they could accommodate us on a one night basis.

For us, Beechwood was an ideal location for our stay. 10 minutes walk to the beautiful beach at Carbis Bay, 5 minutes walk to the railway station to catch the train for a 3 minute trip into St Ives. The return trip was by taxi, costing only £4.90. There is a Costcutter within a minute's walk.

Both Jan and Peter, the owners, were very welcoming and keen to recommend interesting places to visit.

Breakfast was very good. Cereal, yoghurt and fresh fruit were available, followed by a cooked meal (choice of full English, scrambled egg, vegitarian) were some of the choices available.

I would definitely stay at the Beechwood again.

Only stopped one night but would have stayed longer if had the time. Good sized rooms with excellent facilities, clean, bright and very welcoming. Not too far out from town centre, plenty of parking, and good atmosphere. Very welcoming host with plenty of time for the guests, very good breakfast- would stay there again if in the area

After driving 2,600 miles around the UK in a hire car, we arrived in St Ives looking for a B&B / hotel to slow down and relax for 3-4 nights. Luck was on our side because we stopped in front of the Beechwood Hotel. Thought we would stay 2 nights only but extended the stay. Other guests had also extended visits. This hotel is a gem. A small Costcutter supermarket is 1 min walk away and a huge Tesco Super Store is 3 mins drive, nearer St Ives. It is located on the entrance to St Ives but in a quieter part of town. Plenty of parking. The breakfasts are a la carte (choose what you want!). Our ensuite was more spacious than normal. Highly recommended. Proprietor was very helpful in recommending worthwhile sights to visit.
