We had no hesitation booking to stay at the Queens Head again, as we liked it so much last year. It was just the same - the rooms are lovely - especially 7 and 8 on the top floor - and the friendliness of the staff is exemplary. Thanks especially to Nathan, who went to a lot of trouble to find out the source of the picture in our room,( which we liked so much we wanted a copy) also to Kerry for her sterling work behind the bar, keeping the Tribute and Rattler supplies coming!
The food is still as good, with an imaginative and well cooked menu.
We will be back and I have no problems recommending this hotel to others.

Room Tip: Ask for the ones on the top floor - full of character and with a view over the rooftops, usually with a resident seagull nesting in the guttering.

Never having been to Cornwall before, it was on the basis of word of mouth and tripadvisor that we decided to stay in St. Ives. Then, staying right in town or out of the town center itself was influenced mostly by what was available and these reviews. THANK GOD we stayed right in the middle of town and at The Queens Hotel. Driving through the city the first time was scary and after I got back up to the car park at the top of the hill to enter town, I never again took the car down the hill! It was so nice to leave the car and just walk around town with all the things to do and all the restaurants easily within walking distance.

The Queens Hotel had large rooms (we booked the family room with two beds), good showers (a luxury) and very friendly staff. Kerry was very helpful with advice about what to do and where to go. The breakfast was great.

Don't stay out of the city or it will be inconvenient to get in and enjoy St. Ives and you may limit how much you do in town - which is where most everything is. We drove to St. Michael Mount and Penzance / Mousehole as well. Watch out for Mousehole. No one warned us that we were taking our lives in our hands trying to drive down that hill....

Good hotel in a great city for visiting and relaxing.

We stayed 5 nights at the Queens hotel which is actually a pub with rooms upstairs. The hotel staff is really friendly and helpful, they dragged our suitcases upstairs :). Our room was spacey enough, with coffee and tea provided in the room. The breakfast is English breakfast which you can order as a whole or just some parts of it. We also had dinner here once which was also really good quality.
The hotel is located very centrally and also close to a parking lot (you can't park on the street in front of the hotel) so it is very convenient for getting around.

My husband booked this hotel and trip to St Ives as a suprise for my birthday. The hotel was lovely, the room we had was on the top floor and we could see the sea from our window! The rooms were spotless and the bed was rediculously comfy! The breakfast is included in the price of the room and it consisted of fresh fruit salad & yoghurt, a selection of cereals and a full english breakfast which was delicious!! We also had lunch as soon as we had checked in and unpacked, and we were even impressed with our sandwich which came with amazing home made chips! They also do a great pint of Tribute! It doesnt have parking but we parked at the railway station just up the road which is long stay (£6.40 for 24 hrs). I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably price, clean and central hotel in St Ives.

Room Tip: Ask for Room 7 if its available as its the biggest room, on the top floor and you can see the sea from the window.

We stayed in rooms 5 & 7 at the Queens Hotel in early May. Lovely rooms, tastefully decorated (seaside theme), spotlessly clean, comfy beds, crisp white linen. The food (dinner & breakfast) was great and the staff helpfull and friendly. Great location in town. Just great! Couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Thanks.
