“Sunday lunch excellent!”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

Did not stay at the hotel - just came in for lunch having seen board outside.

The Sunday lunch was excellent, amazing roast beef and perfect vegetables made this a great treat. Well worth a visit. Lovely atmosphere with log fire roaring away!

Had a wonderful night at The Queens. The breakfast was great and full of local produce. Tasty sausage and crispy bacon and was great to have a choice of eggs. We stayed in one of the 2 revamped rooms to the front of the hotel. The room was lovely and clean, great shower ! Pity the corridors had not been revamped but I am sure they will be done shortly. Certainly worth staying. We did not eat in the hotel but had a few drinks prior to going out for the evening, but if we stayed for 2 nights we would definitely eat there on one night as the food that was coming out of the kitchen looked wonderful and smelled delicious. Great stay and would certainly stay again. Thank you

Room Tip: Parking a problem but we parked at the station car park which was reasonable compared to the laundry...

Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Communal stairway area is grubby and looking old. So different to the room we stayed in. Good breakfast, apart from tepid coffee. We paid £79 for the night. I would say £60 to £70 would be a fairer price. Central location. Parking problematic. Other guest was complaining of no hot water in room

Excellent welcome with apologies for building work (no effect on our stay). Well appointed room as stated on web site. Shame about the gale force north winds which rattled the windows! Excellent evening meal and full English breakfast , all freshly cooked, in relaxed atmosphere. Only stayed one night b&b but happy to recommend. Only downside is lack of parking and high car park charges - be prepared with lots of change!

nice comfy place to chill out while Mrs and kids do the beach and shopping. reasonable prices, good beer, listen to some tunes and relax. i,ll be back again this year for sure. we found it spacious, clean, staff were polite, its location is bang on to, just down from bus station. the Mrs and kids also liked the relaxed atmosphere when they came to find us and had a drink to. all in all go try it, i think you will like it to..

Room Tip: didnt stay overnight just called in for a few drinks.

I stayed here with my brother and father for 2 nights and it was the perfect place to explore st. Ives from. Hosts were a credit to the hotel and I would recommend to anyone wanting a lovely relaxing holiday by the sea. Best fish and chips I ever had and a real jukebox :)
