“Yum!”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

We went for an early dinner before Blas closes for the winter next week. My partner and I both thoroughly enjoyed our meals (Halloumi stack and the Real Deal Beefburger) and the relaxed atmosphere of the restaraunt. I do understand other reviewers concerns about the service. Although we experienced no problems, we did notice the lack of communication with other guests regarding the shared seating when people walked in. People could not get annoyed about the shared seating if it was explained properly from the outset by the waiting staff. They can then choose to dine or go elsewhere if they do not like this set up. The restaraunt is small and this ensures quick table turnarounds therefore more people fed - so this set-up makes perfect sense to me. The side orders are a little on the steep side but not excessively so. Overall I do not think it is bad value for money, the burgers are amazing and huge, So it is not really neccessary for side orders (it just depends how greedy you're feeling that day!!) Plus the real deal menu is £10 for a burger, chips and a glass of wine. Great value! It is not a place to go for fine dining - try the Porthminster beach cafe if that's what you're looking for. But if you want good grub in a relaxed environment then this is the place for you! We really loved it! Can't wait to try the Halestown Inn. Tip. Make sure you book if you're in a large group over 6 people.

If you like a burger then this well worth a visit, local well made well presented food, at little pricey maybe.
On my visit and been a few times now I was very disappointed with the service, just plain unfriendly,

“Great Food Terrible Service”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Amazing food, really great quality and well cooked and presented BUT the staff, in this case the dark haired waitress, barely spoke and made no attempt to create any customer interaction other than to take the order. On presenting the bill didn't even acknowledge it but carried on talking to the kitchen staff. We felt as if we were inconveniencing them and it ruined the experience. I will stress again that the food is amazing and if we want burgers from there again we will takeaway.

“More than just a burger...it's a Blas Burger!”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

If you like burgers this place is a must on your visit to St.Ives. If you don't like burgers, please keep an open mind and give it a go. You will not be disappointed.

All produce is sourced locally, and there is a whole menu of different burgers. Most of which defy gravity! This great food coupled with the friendly staff and an intimate room (aka very small and limited seating) make Blas Burgerworks so popular. Booking is not possible but the food is well worth the wait.

For such a small business to survive the quiet winter months is testament to the roaring trade they have in season; and all those people can't be wrong!
