i came to st. Ives with a group of friends in July this year to have a meal, and we thought we would pop into the Pedn Olva Hotel for a quick drink, as we were orginally going to have a meal at the porthminister cafe, we then found out that the hotel, have there own resturant called the Lookout, so we cancelled our reservation at the portminister cafe and decided to eat in the resturant. Well what can i say we were greated by pleasant staff and nothing was too much trouble for them, they re-arranged the tables and had us sat down in a matter of minutes. while we were deciding what we wanted to eat, we were brought complimetary bread and olives. I ask if the bread was fresh and the young lad who served us said that it is made fresh everyday. Well things just got better from there, i had the scallops with some kind of herb butter for starters, which was amazing, my best friend Stacey had the soup, Chris had the Squid, and Emily had the goats-cheese. they all looked beautifully presented, and tasted amazing, deffiently compliments to the Chef. The service was very good and both the lad and the young lady serving that evening were so poliet, when we had finsihed are started the lad asked us would you like me to clear those for you guys, Chris answered yes please, and it was no problem, he even asked if we had, had a good day. Me and Emily then had the Cornish Trio of fish for mains, Chris had the Steak, and Stacey had the Risotto. We felt like we couldn't actually eat anymore and then the young lady who was also serving the resturant that night asked if we would like any desserts, and we were all like umm, well we will have a look, please. She was so sweet and said no problem. We all thought no we cant have a dessert we all felt so full, But once we saw the choices on the dessert menu we soon changed our minds. Me and Chris had the Eaton Mess, (which was meranguie, strawberries and cream) it was absolutly delicious, and it was a fair size too, Umm Emily had the Sticky Toffee Pudding, which looked and also tasted amazing... and then finally Stacey had the Brulee.
