“I would not recommend this property anybody!”

I have self catered for may years on and off and never have I stayed in a property such as this. Dark and dingy and smelt very damp. Years of rubbish ( leaflets etc) . the living room was like a tip. Furniture too big for the cottage. looked like somebody had gone to auction and picked up furniture which was old, dirty and fit for God's waiting room.. Had to search for stuff like the iron etc. The bath was so old it had lost its enamel - awful. I appreciate that you cannot put showers in all bathrooms but one fixed to a tap wold be OK. If this had been a beach holiday , which if the weather had been kinder could well have been, instead of showering after being on the beach I would have to have bath !! Not good. The wardrobe were full of linen which was a space I would quite like to have used for my stuff. One of the beds in the downstairs bedroom was so sqeaky it kept my husband awake , so I moved up to the bedroom on the top. ( no mattress cover) so we slept separately :( ... A total rip off for what I paid - Because of its location people pay the money and the owners know they can get it. Appalling behavior. The property needs gutting - Came home early very dissapointed

I just do not know what to say. The previous reviews are all good. I have never had a complaint before, visitors usually wish to return for another holiday.

Great location. A real Port Isaac experience. Not fancy in any sense, but fantastic all the same. The cottage has everything you need for a wonderful holiday. This was my children's favourite of all our holiday cottages.
Only a small amount of hot water before it runs out (but there is an override switch) and only a bath, no shower.. If you want luxury this isn't the place for you. But honestly, we had the best time and would visit again happily.
Car park is very very helpful! If you forget your key pick up instructions (like we did) the pub is also very helpful.

Thank you. The cottage is a delightful spot for a holiday. Children like the top bedroom.
The hot water is intended for shallow baths, sorry. The tank is very small and the immersion heater runs on a timer. Please do not hesitate to use the override switch. It soon reheats the water.

A quaint cottage in the heart of the village. Stairs and bathroom are not for the faint-hearted but it's full of character.

“A Step Back in Time”
Reviewed May 4, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

The location of this cottage is second to none. From the top of the cottage there was a view of the harbour. The choice of places to eat were endless and the 'Doc Martin' tour, given by Mike, was great. The cottage is compact with low ceilings but had everything we needed and more, as well as being warm and cosy. There are some lovely walks and we were blessed with really good weather to enjoy the wonderful scenery.

Thank you for these kind remarks. Port Isaac is a quiet restful village, though there are always plenty of things to do. On longer stays it is easy, these days, to travel quite speedily to other parts of Cornwall. We hope that you will be back,

Pleased to hear that you loved Port Isaac and the cottage. Both are cosy places. For a longer stay, in better weather there are several places to visit in Cornwall, all pretty accessible.
Best wishes Christine D.

“Fantastic place to stay, thank you.”
Reviewed April 2, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We stayed in this cottage for 4 nights and had a great break. Firstly the location is perfect, right in the centre of Port Isaac, great for a stroll and potter or a coastal walk. It was also really good value for money. The village itself is charming with wonderful views from the headlands and around the village itself. There are some interesting shops and great places to eat and drink. The cottage itself was great and had everything we wanted. The beds were comfy and it was lovely to be away from it all in such a cosy and welcoming cottage. We felt so at home by the end we didn't want to leave! Christine the owner was also really helpful. Thank you for our lovely stay, hopefully we'll be back soon.

Just returned from a weeks holiday based in this cute little cottage in Port Isaac. Other reviews very accurate - small but all you need. We were just 2 but there's another bedroom on top floor where 2 little ones could sleep. Might feel a squeeze with 4 fully grown adults but if all you need is a base then do-able. Bring towels, hand soap etc. There was washing up liquid there but could have been left by the last people. Nearest convenience store is Co-op, right back up the very steep hill, maybe 10 min walk? Advice would be to stop by on way back in the car after a day out.

Brilliant location - Mote Restaurant and Outlaws literally seconds around the corner and of course the harbour right there. We have friends and family in Cornwall so travelled a fair bit but other than Port Isaac itself, locally, Port Quin and its coastal walks are a must. Even smaller than Port Isaac (only a hotel there) but a nice little beach area and the cliff top walks (you can google the walks - we did the shorter 3 ish mile one as I'm pregnant at the moment). Views were stunningly beautiful. Just incredible. Love the North Coast of Cornwall (I grew up more west cornwall but lived in North cornwall for a time and the North is more spectacular!).

We didn't choose Port Isaac due to the Doc Martin thing so we didn't do the tour (£10 each) but you can buy a leaflet in what they use as the 'pharmacy' in the show (Buttermilk shop in reality) for £1.50 which gives you a map of the village and all the locations so we just walked around spotting them. Apparently the tour is quite good though as you tend to get a history of the village at the same time. Think it's a 90 min tour.

Only down side to the cottage really was the seating - if you are in for one of the evenings the seating is very 'up right' so no slouching here! Could do with more of a sofa though appreciate there's lack of space.

Overall loved it and would return to Port Isaac and re book this cottage. Owner very helpful prior to holiday over a couple of things too.

Thank you for the review. We are very fond of the cottage. Even my 6'4" tall husband loves it. Just make sure in the kitchen you stand upright between the beams if you are that height!
