“Sea Shanties on the Sea Shore”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2014

Very often on a Friday night the well known group of Port Isaac fishermen and other tradesman join together to sing their songs of the sea on the beach in Port Isaac, weather & tide permitting. This is a free concert and a collection is taken for local charities. I wondered whether a couple of hours or so of songs of the sea would get boring, not a bit of it, the close harmonies and humour that is the trademark of Fishermen's Friends makes sure that the evening passes all to quickly. Come early to get a good view, and bring your own chairs.

“PROPER JOB!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2014

Saw the guys singing on the Platt whilst staying in Port Isaac and we loved them! They are such lovely blokes, very funny and their singing is amazing. Well done to them for having the courage to continue singing. Saw them at the Cornwall show the next day and they were fab. Not my usual choice of music but I am converted. Reading their book at the moment - Sailing At Eight Bells - fantastic read, these guys have such interesting stories. Can't wait to see them when we return to Port Isaac next year. If you get chance to see them you must go even if you don't think it's your "thing". Many thanks to them for such fantastic entertainment from Vanessa, Mags, Nobby the Butler and Branston the Chauffeur.

“A real treat!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014

We loved watching the Fishermand Friends. We were hoping to see them at the harbourside but because of the rain they moved to the village hall. We had a fabulous time watching them and it was the perfect way to finish our honeymoon!

“Friends of the Fisherman”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014

We were hoping to see the Fisherman Friends on the Plat but due to the weather they hastily relocated to the village hall where they packed in an audience of locals and visitors. They did not disappoint. Port Isaac is proud of the group and we could see why. If you are in Port Isaac on a Friday night, do yourself a favour (as Molly Meldrum of Australia would say) and not miss them.

“Heave Away!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2014

Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to see these lovely, and very talented, people perform live! Slight rain meant that the performance was relocated to the village hall, so bit of a trek up the hill for me as I have mobility issues. I didn't care, I would happily have crawled over broken glass to get there! A fabulous evening; can't wait to go again! :)
