The staff were friendly and helpful, however they are not on-site once the restaurant closes. No idea what you would do if you lost your key after hours, as there is no mobile reception in this part of the town.
The wifi was sporadic at best - a challenge if you need to keep in contact with people while you are away, especially given the lack of phone signal.
The room was clean and well maintained.
We were woken at 6am by the sound of hundreds of bottles being moved mere metres from our room. There's nothing the hotel can do to stop this, however some kind of warming would have been nice, double-glazing and a fan for the worst affected rooms would be much more ideal.

Staff were very friendly. Had a lovely day watching the filming of Doc Martin. Was very lucky with the weather considering we booked the room 12 months before. I'm sure that if we informed the staff of the problems they would have rectified them, but the room should have been inspected before we arrived considering the daily cost of the room.

Room tip: Secure carpet and repair shaver point.

We had a one night stay at this lovely B & B in the centre of Port Issac. It is a lovely clean, comfortable and very friendly place to stay. Our room was a small suit with separate lounge area, ( room 9) which gave us plenty of space to relax. The room was very clean and airy with tea, coffee and everything you need for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was freshly prepared and tasty with a good choice of cooked and cold food available. It’s the perfect location for exploring the town and surrounding countryside at a very reasonable price. The staff were all very friendly and happy, nothing was too much trouble.

The hardest part of staying here is getting your luggage down into the village. The road is narrow and packed with visitors and so you drive down, unload and drive back up to a car park. But then we had a lovely view of the harbour, including the Lifeboat station right next door. So when an alarm went off and the men raced into action, we had a great view of all the happening! Our room was not large but certainly adequate. Lovely shower! And the breakfast in the morning was very good.

As the name suggests The slipway could not be better positioned next to the life boat station by the harbour. It’s very close to the Dr Martin tour (see seperate reviews) and some of the key Dr Martin sites including the pub, pharmacy & his surgery. It’s location is the key reason to stay here.

We enjoyed our stay for this reason but would be unlikely to return...

Prior to our visit Becky was really helpful in planning our trip including arranging our airport transfer with Chris’s Taxi’s from Bodmin (recommended). We were relieved to be dropped off at the hotel as road access is tricky and would be stressful if you’re driving (except ironically on Dr Martin filming days when the crew manage traffic through walkie talkies). Parking is however available (10 minutes + away) at the top of Port Isaac.

Our welcome at the hotel was well done and friendly. The room was comfortable, good value and had spectacular harbour views albeit it was accessed up two windy stairs which were tricky with luggage. The bathroom was however quite tight. Doors are low as one would expect from a 16 th century building so be prepared to duck!

Wifi and mobile signal throughout Port Isaac is very sporadic and the hotel wifi reflects this - be prepared.....

The breakfast choice was impressively wide including the full Cornish, The Breton (mackerel), Port Isaac (Kipper), Padstow (Salmon), pancakes etc etc
