Booked here as our Rome weekend was cancelled...we literally swapped pasta for pasties. Personally, I knew nothing of Port Wenn or my namesake doctor. But it didn't take long to get used to the fact that your were staying IN the film set itself. From the schoolhouse to the pharmacy to a pub called the Crab and Lobster it is all there but still stays an idyllic small Cornish fishing village still centred around local produce from the sea.
The rooms and restaurant are first class with the quality of the food successfully having to compete with the local renowned chef Nathan Outlaw . The bathroom and suite facilities in our Mathematics room were outstanding.....the ground coffee and cafetiere were a lovely touch above and beyond the normal tea ray.

The other thing to commend was the dedicated parking space for the room, worth its weight in lobster in this part ot the world where you are within touching distance of so many memorable sights.

Thank you everyone.

Room tip: Many rooms have a view that look over to the Doc's Cottage, if you are a big fan call directly and check if one is available.

British Airways cancelled our flight scheduled for the end of May, because of the cornavirus. I subsequently had to cancel all our hotel reservations. Old School Hotel had required a one night deposit. They refunded all but 40 pounds, claiming it was their cancellation policy to retain 40 pounds on any cancellation. First, this wasn't a voluntary cancellation. It was totally beyond my control. Secondly, we are experiencing some very difficult times. You would have thought the hotel would show a little sensitivity in these trying times. I informed the hotel that our plan is to visit Port Isaac in the fall, once this crisis has passed. However, I will select another hotel to stay at.

Had a last minute booking due to being let down by another hotel (we arrived and it was closed for refurbishment!). The Old School were extremely accommodating - the family room was lovely and spacious, well appointed and very clean - beautiful bathroom and large comfy bed! TThe staff were so friendly too - they rescued our weekend. Great breakfast! Will definitely stay again when in Port Isaac next.

Room tip: Great location

It was delightful staying at this comfortable unpretentious hotel. Attentive and friendly staff that didn’t fuss but were on hand when required. Characterful comfortable rooms that were serviced on request. More tea/coffee supplies readily available from the reception that doubles up as the bar. The food was excellent with a fairly small but very well thought out menu, we were spoilt for choice. Freshly cooked breakfast to order. I would also recommend this hotel as ideally situated close to harbour and shops.

The Staff here are so friendly and it is defiantly worth the money to stay here. Not only are you in the centre of Port isaac for parking, everything is within walking distance that you will probably want to see.
