“Good lunch, great service. Fabulous location”
Reviewed June 22, 2014 via mobile

We called in for lunch, no booking required, and pushed the boat out with chef's fish dishes for two at £35 each. Smoked cods roe dip with flat bread ... fantastic. Paprika cured grey mullet with pickled peppers ... my favourite, totally delicious. Whiskey cured salmon ... yum yum. Crumbed plaice with ratatouille ... wonderful. All of the above were sharing tapas style dishes. We then each had a fish burger. A bit bland, weak on flavour I thought, and I would have preferred to share and have had something else different. We each had a sweet, lime posset and brownie, both delicious.
I wouldn't have the set menu again as it would have cost the same if we had ordered plates individually. I wouldn't go for the burger either but all of the other dishes were superb. It seemed quite pricey for the portion size. We will go back though and stick to snack rather than big lunch. Thank you.

“Short summer break”
Reviewed June 20, 2014

Booked in advance. Food served on small plates, more like tapas. Everything was really nice, with excellent waitress service. Small restaurant with only 8 tables. And as you would expect the price reflects a high end restaurant but not silly.

“Excellent Fish Restaurant”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

This is a small restaurant in the tiny fishing village of Port Isaac, well known from the Doc martin series. The restaurant has recently been taken over by Nathan Outlaw, who has a restaurant in the nearby village of Rock. He is the only chef to have a restaurant that holds 2 Michelin stars that is purely a fish restaurant. The restaurant is in the heart of the village just opposite the beach.

The menu consists of small dishes that vary between about £5 and £22 for lobster, and you can choose as many dishes as you want, or there is a selection of 7 dishes for £35 per person, so you can spend as much or little as you want. The dishes are small but exquisite so you do not need many to make you feel satisfied. Definitely not for non-fish lovers.

“lovely”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

Went in here as it was the most appealing place on PI . You have to remember its tapas style, and if you break down the cost into what you would normally pay for starters and main it does not stack up too badly. Gorgeous choc brownie and delicious ice cream pudding, for same price as a pub grub pud elsewhere.

“Good food but not good value”
Reviewed June 13, 2014

Outlaws is located down on the harbour in Port Isaac in a quaint old leaning building. Comfortable and a pleasant atmosphere. The food is well presented and tasty enough but the portion sizes are not generous and the pricing is expensive compared to other restaurants in the area. This leaves the overall impression of lack of value for money.
