We visited Port Isaac for the first time and a friend recommended here for the crab sandwich. We got there a little earlier than they started serving food but they served us straight away and said it would be out as soon as the kitchen was open. The food was fantastic, literally amazingly fresh and a lovely team working there too.
The only reason I ranked it as a four star instead of five was the choice of Quite loud music playing. It may seem petty but it would have been better suited playing in a city bar rather than a sleepy little village pub serving food and drinks to all ages up to pensioners.

As Port Isaac has got even more popular and busier, so has the Mote. Book early if you want to secure a table here in this lovely old building. At busy times, they have two sittings. Avoid the early sitting if you don't want to feel rushed. Service is generally good from friendly staff and the menu is predominantly sea food. I had monkfish scampi followed by seared cod which were both excellent.
