“Decent entertainment required!”
Reviewed July 18, 2013 via mobile

We go to this holiday park every year in the same two weeks. The diamond bungalow that we now hire is lovely and they do brilliant deals on them. We used to stay in the bungalows but they aren't modern or sufficient enough. The entertainment years ago used to be 100 times better with the likes of chunky Russell.. Captain crumble is lovely and works with what he can. Also rip dill. Even firebird are no more there :-(
The park itself is lovely and relaxing and in all the years I have gone to seaview we have always had a lovely seaview. The only other major problem is the bar manager nicki she is totally rude and doesn't make you feel welcome as you should when you are on your holidays. The lady in the shop is lovely.

I will continue to visit seaview but can only hope they spend a little bit more money on entertainment and get some more staff especially for the entertainment instead if the kitchen and bar staff being all the roles rolled into one!

Many thanks for taking the time to review your most recent holiday at Seaview. We are glad to see that you still enjoy coming back here.
We are really sorry that you found the entertainment to be a bit disappointing this year as you have obviously seen a lot of different people over many years - Chunky Russell left here in 2000!!
We do get a lot of guests who, like yourself, come back year after year and we therefore do try to vary the entertainment so that we have something different on offer. Obviously it is difficult to please 'all of the people all of the time' but we do hope you won't be put off. Undoubtedly there will be some new faces again next year.
We are sorry if you thought our Bar Manager was rude - she has worked for us for several years and is usually polite, pleasant and very efficient and we can only assume the pressure of work got to her temporarily. Please accept our apologies.
We look forward to seeing you again next year.

Came to Seaview on a Sun £9.50 deal with my mum and the children, 9 and 6. Stayed June 7 th for 3 nights. Lovely park and facilities just the right size for us. Really pleased to have a chalet, No 3 which was close to amenities. Chalet was lovely and clean bed comfortable as was sofa bed. Had lovely weather so electricity only cost £3. The pool was great really warm. Really quiet swim at 8.30 am.
The children enjoyed all the games with Captain Crumble. We ordered evening meals here and these were tasty and good value. The children were able to play on the nearby playgrounds as we waited for the food.
Mum hasn't had a holiday for years but was really impressed and we would definitely stay again.

My family and I have stayed at various parks in the area over a number of years and we have no hesitation whatsover in saying that Seaview is by far the best we've stayed at - no only in Cornwall but in other areas of the country as well. The staff were amazingly polite and helpful and far too numerous to mention all by name. However, Captain Crumble (Alan) stands out as an exceptional host, not only for the kids but also for the adults. He's engaging, comical and has a fantastic memory! We stayed on the Sun Holiday promotion from Monday to Friday and the price we paid represented amazing value for money - and we were treated no differently than if we had been paying full price. The site is clean and well maintained and what the chalet (56)lacked in modern decor it made up for in size and equipment. The electricity was not expensive and only cost money when we were using the immersion heater for the shower. Otherwise we only spent £3 on electricity during our stay! The food in the clubhouse was ample and fairly priced, with service being as prompt as possible even when it was busy. I stayed with my wife, my adult daughter and my elderly mother-in-law and we had a fantastic time.We will definitely be returning in the future, hopefully for a longer stay.

We booked this break through Sun Holidays before reading the reviews. We were so concerned especially when one reviewer said the electric meter cost him £60 and he was hardly there that we rang the park beforehand. The receptionist advised that several people had told her just that day how much they enjoyed the park and that they would be back, that you shouldn't believe everything that you read. We decided to give it a go and we were glad we did. Ok, so the chalet/bungalow is far from being luxury but it was clean and liveable. It was tired and dated but the décor didn't effect my holiday. There were steps to the accommodation which was annoying in this lovely hot weather because we couldn't have the door open with an 18 month old running around. The electric meter only took money when the Immersion Heater was on, we charged our mobiles, had lights on, the tv on etc and the amount in the meter never moved it was literally only when we put the immersion on ready for a shower. We didn't eat at the park but we did use the club for a drink in the evenings, the indoor and outdoor pools are lovely and the children loved the two play areas. The staff at the bar are very nice, we had some rudeness from one senior female bar tender when my son spilt his drink but she seemed to recover later and was polite. The park is situated a stones throw from Polperro which is a lovely little village, we had dinner at the Crumplehorn Inn which we thoroughly enjoyed. It's a short drive from Looe, Looe has plenty of shops and places to eat and drink. The beach at Looe was jam packed with the lovely weather we have had recently and so was the beach at Talland Bay which is also close to the park.

Im not sure how much it usually is to stay at the park but I paid £75 through The Sun Fri-Mon and for that money I was very happy with my stay, for families like ours who love to do exploring when we are away I think the park is ideally situated to explore East Cornwall.

Room Tip: Our chalet/bungalow had steps so I would suggest ringing and requesting a place without steps if you...

Thank you for writing your review - it was nice to read that you really enjoyed your stay after being a little concerned about some previous reviews. We always try to reassure our visitors that the vast majority of our guests do enjoy their holidays here and that some people who leave negative reviews can be a little prone to exaggeration!
We are sorry that the steps caused you a bit of a problem - as you suggest it would perhaps be advisable for others to check this when booking, as many bungalows only have one of two steps and we can usually find something suitable for everyone.
We really do appreciate your comments and we hope you will come and stay with us again soon.

We have recently returned from our 5th holiday at Seaview in 3 years. The site is in a wonderful position, with amazing views over Talland Bay. This time we stayed in Regent caravan 15 and had a large verandah from which to enjoy the views. The grounds are well maintained and all the staff are always really friendly.
We walked down to Talland Bay, and also on another day to Polperro. The lady on reception gave us a map and said that it would take about 1/2 an hour to walk. It did, almost exactly! Be prepared for a very steep walk back, but well worth the effort!
The entertainment is great for a small holiday village. Captain Crumble is marvellous with all ages, although he excels in children's entertainment and the children clearly adore him.
There are no neon signs or oversized furry animals to scare the children. There is good old fashioned entertainment and real bunnies in the next field, which wander around the site and delight with their antics.
This all makes for a really relaxing holiday. We purposely left all technology at home, and didn't even turn on the new flat screen TV. We have very hectic jobs and just wanted to escape from it all.
We are so glad we found Seaview 3 years ago. Each time we return, we know we are going to get a warm welcome and good service. The staff seem genuinely happy in their work.
Having read some of the reviews on this site, We cannot believe they are talking about the same place! We can only suggest they try Butlins. Please don't judge by some of the bad reviews on here. Visit and form your own opinion.
We will definitely be back next year (if not a late break this year).

Room Tip: Well worth getting a sea view.

Just left Seaview after a fab weeks holiday. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Bungalow 80 was spacious, clean and comfortable with a king size bed.We had patio furniture and good shower. Clubhouse is modern and above average entertainment including bingo. Captain Crumble works his socks off with the kids club morning and evening and takes charge of the adult entertainment. Restaurant food is plentiful, priced right and o.k. The park itself is immaculate and very peaceful, ideally placed between Looe and the beautiful fishing village of Polperro. Plenty to see and do in the local area. Added to this, weather was perfect. Looking to go back later this year. Could easily have stayed another week. Well done to all the staff.

We have just got back from Seaview Holiday Park nr Looe Cornwall, we had a great time down there, Cheryl on reception helped us out with all that we needed as we had to have oxygen delivered to the camp site and she made sure that it was in the caravan when we arrived. We visited the club house every night as we had 2 little ones and they wanted to see Captain Crumble he was very entertaining and the grand-kids thought he was the bees knees.
The van was compact and small fro 7 people?? and only one loo?? We played bingo most nights but NO we did not win but we had fun, There was entertainment on every night we did enjoy Paul Sylvester he was great. I would come back again as we did enjoy it very much. The only draw back about the site is that it is in real need of some TLC!

Room Tip: Bring your own toilet paper and your own Tea Towels!!!

We really appreciate you taking the time to write your review and we thank you for your kind comments.
Our staff are only too happy to help guests who have special requirement and will do what they can to assist.
We are sorry that you found the caravan a little cramped. Most of our three bedroom caravans do have 2 toilets but unfortunately the one you were allocated for its position did not. Perhaps if you come back you could consider one of our Jubilees or Coronation as they are a bit bigger and would give you a little more space.
We are glad you enjoyed our entertainment - we do try to vary things to find something for everyone.
We hope to see you again in the not too distant future.
