One of the best harbour views you can get, without going to the top of a hill. It was a great place to just relax in the window seat or on the comfy sofa and watch fishing boats, trip boats, sailing boats, gulls, cormorants, ducks and swans all using the harbour in their own way. The decoration is new and modern, the shower effective, the beds comfortable, and the kitchen is sensibly equipped. If you want to cook, there is a good range of pans, oven dishes, and decent quality utensils to do so easily. If you want a real break, there are plenty of places to eat and drink without leaving the village - you can get all the Cornish cream teas, clotted cream ice cream and fudge, cornish pasties, locally caught fish and shellfish you can manage, served up everywhere from a garden tea room to a harbourside pub, and all in easy walking distance of the cottage.
Broadband internet made it easy to plan days out, and was especially appreciated as there is poor mobile coverage in the area. There were plenty of books and games, and also nice touches like travel soaps and toothbrushes if you'd forgotten anything. The parking was good too - one of the most accessable and secure parking areas in the village. It's top of our list for when we next come to Polperro.
