Lovely cottage. Mark and jo were very nice, they gave us a welcome cream tea which was lovely. steep Up hill walk from the harbour back to the cottage but well worth it as polperro is stunning.

“Perfect Polperro”
Reviewed August 25, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Stayed at the Retreat very well run by Mark and Jo.Up the hill just outside the village it is a good location for all that Polperro has to offer.Would recommend The British Legion for a ice evening and The Ship for good food
Accommodation at the Retreat is spotlessly clean and is well equipped with all you will need to enjoy a relaxing holiday .A nice touch from Jo and Mark is a Cream Tea when you arrive which was well appreciated after a long journey .
Would recommend you try the coastal walk to Looe from Polperro which takes about 2.30hours but is well worth the effort with beautiful views along the way .

“Lovely, cosy apartment in a great location for exploring”
Reviewed April 7, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our short beak at The Retreat. The apartment is lovely - very cosy and comfortable and fully equipped with everything you need. It was spotlessly clean and the added extras like kitchen basics, shampoo and a good selection of DVDs and books were all much appreciated.
Jo and Mark were perfect hosts. Just the right balance between friendliness and privacy. Their welcome and tips about the area was much appreciated and we felt sure they would have helped if we needed anything, but they also kept away and allowed us our own space. The scones left for us in the kitchen were a lovely surprise.
The hill from the carpark is very steep - a bit of struggle for two people a little out of shape!

“Lovely place. Big enough go be comfortable, small enough to be cozy.”
Reviewed September 22, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Very helpful hosts who were always on hand when needed but never obtrusive. And very well stocked with little extras like soap, TP that one doesn't always find in self-catering. We had a lovely week.

“Convenient quiet and comfortable. .a real Retreat”
Reviewed August 30, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We have just spent a week at the retreat and I chose the accommodation based on previous Trip Advisor reviews and was not disappointed. A lovely place to stay. Accommodation was quiet and easy to reach plus so near to the centre of Polperro but far enough away to keep away from tne general hubub of the village. The local restaurants were lovely and even the walk up the hill after a meal and drink or two in the village wasn't too difficult. But be aware that it is a wee bit of a hike but not too bad...the parking in the village car park using the permit was pretty easy too...we would take the car up the hill to drop off luggage and shopping, but leaving at the bottom of the hill was not a problem at all. Only little negative I have is that the bedroom would be better with a blind ..not for privacy as this is not a problem at the retreat but to the cut out the morning light....overall we had a lovely stay at the Retreat. It is ideally situated to explore Cornwall too..would highly recommend.

This apartment looked lovely from the website but we were even more delighted when we saw it firsthand. It was well kept, clean, nicely furnished, private and relaxing - a real retreat! Lots of thoughtful touches and everything you could need was at hand - a fully stocked kitchen of utensils, a few pounds in the electricity meter and a pint of milk in the fridge. We were amazed by how much was supplied - hair dryer, games, books, DVDs, tea bags, sugar, hand wash, washing up liquid, shampoo, body wash - a real luxury for a self catering apartment. It was easy to cook with everything you could need in the kitchen - and more! The view from the balcony and sitting room over to the hills of Polperro was beautiful. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony and the very close proximity to the restaurants of Polperro meant we could enjoy a mix of self catering and eating out. Very convenient. We aren't the fittest of people but the hill was very manageable and only a very short walk to the amenities. The owners were very helpful; giving you anything you needed whilst respecting your privacy. There was also a pretty little terrace courtyard garden exclusively for then apartment. We slept very well with a very comfy bed and only spent a few pounds the whole long weekend on electricity and free parking was a big added bonus. We will definitely be staying again and recommending to our friends and family.
