“Terrible is an understatement”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

It says it all when locals refuse to visit this place, it is only popular with holiday makers who dont no any better. When we went for an all you can eat, we were laughing so hard at the experience that we spat our over cooked noodles all over the already dirty table and carpet. The carpet was held down with maskin tape on the steps leading down to the poor excuse for a buffet. It had poor choice, was not hot enough and quite frankly looked like something my dog dispenses on the garden. It looked awful and tasted even worse and was all unmarked, you didnt know whether you were eating a kung pow or chicken ball. The grand finally of the meal was the "pudding". This was a choice of Slimey orange segments from the 60's, frost bitten icecream (this baffled even me) which was soo solid, it snapped the cheap cutlery and cubes of raw jelly, yum. As a result, we didnt pay for meal, (after being threatened that the staff were calling someone down to us, we had to point out that by law we were in our right not to pay as we had complained and not eaten). We were then thrown out and told never to return. The building is shabby and dirty. The staff, who are clearly close family remind me of a "godfather" movie. Someone needs to call health and safety (or dog the bounty hunter) in to get this place sorted

“Pretty good and a great buffet”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

Food is good, lots of selection not just the usual boring dishes but all sorts. The Bang Bang Chicken is a local favourite.

Their "all you can eat" buffet is excellent, get there early when it's just put on, gets very busy on weekends in the summer and as the previous review kind of says, for down here it's great. (In winter, larger restaurants barely break even in Cornwall)

The car park is big too, easy to park if there's more than one car full of people. Overall it's very good and being out of town, on it's own, a nice treat.

“Not your average Chinese”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

Yes, it is not the most stylishly decorated restaurant in the world, so you wouldn't come here to propose to your fiancé(e), but in an area that is not exactly awash with non-European food choices, it makes for very welcome alternative.

And luckily it is more than just another Chinese with the usual greasy standards using the same three sauces you get in any cheap'n'cheerful takeaway the world over. I especially love their sweet and sour bean curd, which is quite unlike any other tofu dish I've ever had and really, really yummy! We also had great Singapore noodles, a wonderfully succulent beef "Cantonese style" and tasty deep-fried squid. I enjoyed every dish, and I'd say it's great value too. As for the staff, they don't seem to speak the best English, but they were definitely very friendly to us, just like last year when we first visited.

So it's not a glamourous place, but when you get tired of pasties and fish'n'chips, this is a great place to enjoy something a bit different.

“Worst meal ever!”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

We visited early on a Wednesday evening (to beat the rush!!), while on holiday. On arrival, the barman took orders for drinks and then directed us to a table near to a radiator (he said), as the dining room was very chilly. It was assumed we had come for the buffet (we had not!) so were given a menu for this - which offered a very limited choice. Between us, we ordered duck, beef and prawns. While we waited (with our coats on!) we found the Dy-nasty to be uninviting, completely lacking in atmosphere, with no music, drab decoration and surly staff - who seemed more interested in discussing their imminent departure to Thailand than anything else. When the dishes arrived, they were so salty we were unable to differentiate between them. As we were leaving, we were invited to choose a dessert from the buffet bar. But - by this time - we were so cold and unimpressed just wanted to leave. Altogether, a dreadful dining experience; we will NOT be returning!
