I arrived at nearly midnight was welcomed and had my case taken to a pleasant comfortable room with an amazing bath room. It was spotless. A comfortable bed and very quiet. Pleasant friendly staff next morning and a nice breakfast. The hotel has been much adapted over the years. It is situated on the front nearer Newlyn than the centre of Penzance, but a very good position. Could be a bit difficult in a full south easterly gale as the sea will bounce Ito the road. Very good value.

Located on the “seafront” in Penzance, the Beachfield was easy to find for us coming by foot from Sennen. Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful upon our arrival, informing us our bags had arrived earlier in the day and had been taken to our double room on the second floor, No 3, directly above the reception area. We were informed at check in that Wi-Fi signal may not be avail in the rooms, however was avail in the reception and common areas. We were however happy to find that from our room we were able to get full signal with good speed.
Room was clean and fresh, with comfortable double bed with duvet, full coffee/tea/hot chocolate service and two rounded comfortable leather chairs looking out the two side by each windows over the “sea front”…..wonderful and relaxing to sit with your book or Wi-Fi, feet up on the window ledge, listen to the ocean from the open window and watch the seafront pedestrian traffic and the waves crashing into the seawall.
Bathroom was recently upgraded with tiled bath/shower combination with modern fixtures throughout. Rate included “Full English” avail till 9am, however having just walked in from St Ives over the last few days, this was our only chance to have a relaxing “lie in”…..and we felt very comfortable in doing it here for sure.

just got back from a wedding blessing in penzance.stayed at the beachfield hotel on the western prom, found hotel clean and comfortable, great full english breakfast and superb evening meal,I had the seared lion of pork with bacon and caramalised apples and chocolate cheesecake with choc ice cream for dessert MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM delicous.washed down with a lovely chilean merlot.hotel staff friendly and helpful.we stayed only the two nights sat and sun due to illness, but my partner commented on way back home, how much she had enjoyed our short stay.asked for small double room 8 which came at a £20 discount on a standard double { a saving of £40 over the weekend } the room was clean and adequate size for a couple of nights for a couple like us, great shower and comfy bed, with a view to die for.drinks bill reasonable.hotel very convenient to church and reception venue.{ 4 mins walk } so was able to park car and leave it.hotel car park small but on street parking readily available very close to hotel.able to get in to car park second day when some guests left sun morning.intend to revisit in the when we will stay longer and explore western end of cornwall.thanks to livvy, sue, sarah, and not forgetting philip the manager for helping us to enjoy our weekend so much.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking western prom have best sea views.

We visited the Beachfield Hotel over a Saturday/Sunday and found the staff very pleasant and professional. We slept in a small double room which was very small, but since all we really wanted was a bed & breakfast we were happy. However, the bed was very uncomfortable, so we left to try the Stanley B&B instead. If it wasn't for the bed the Beachfield would have got 4 stars.
Also the free Wireless doesn't quite reach all the rooms and the corridors can be quite noisy late at night.
The breakfast though was excellent!

We stayed t the Guest Lodge which is an annexe to the Beachfield Hotel and not in the main hotel though the facilities of the hotel were available for us to use should we so wish. Our room was quite small with no outlook as the windows were small and high up near the ceiling. This to us was no problem as we arrived late, as intended, and left soon after breakfast for our onward flight to the Isles of Scilly. The room made for a good stopping off overnight stay. The room had a standard sized bed which was comfortable and a good easily controlled shower. There was plenty of clothes and suitcase storage space in our room.

Breakfast should we have required it was £6.50 for a continental style and £11.50 for a full English which is standard price around the country.

We were offered full use of all the other hotel facilities including the lounges which were very comfortable and had newspapers available and a variety of local and more national magazines to read. In addition there was a games room which had a variety of board games, chess, noughts and crosses as a wooden board game, 4 in a row, pick up sticks and several others which would be entertaining if delayed or the weather was bad. This is a very good touch and a pleasant change from electronic video style games.

Reception was equipped with a blackboard on which was displayed the expected weather forecast and most important in this part of the world the daily tide tables again another good touch.
