“A Relaxing Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

We stayed in the Dolly Devine room, which is beautifully decorated and furnished. The room has an original bay window which gives extra space and a great view. The only problem is noise from the street and the pub opposite. The staff were very friendly, cheery and helpful. Breakfasts are amazing, good quality and very generous. Pictures by local artists adorn the walls in the guest lounge and up the stairs, giving the place a unique feel. The location is perfect, there are loads of places to eat a drink nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and felt really relaxed, we didn't want to come home! We would definitely stay here again.

Dear bazwalker,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review.

We are very sorry your sleep was disrupted from the noise from the pub across the road- We are looking to get secondary glazing in Dolly Divine to help cut the noise out.

I am really please you enjoyed breakfast we take such pride in using local ingredients and cooking everything fresh to order.

We hope you see you again either in Cornwall or in our sister hotel in Brighton!

King Regards

We really struggle to find rooms for 5 now that our kids are no longer babies. This hotel offered a double room with mezzanine with room for 3 up top. Not only did we all fit in but the kids loved their spot on the mezzanine and also really enjoyed the art. The room was quirky, quite small but just what we needed. Sheets and towels were lovely although bed a little soft and creaky. Breakfast was the highlight - super choice and delicious cooked menu. A different hotel but so much more enjoyable than the corporate/big brand offerings.

A wonderful surprise - large, bright airy rooms each imbued with its own character by the artwork within. Incredibly friendly service with a very easy relaxed touch, a laid back welcome to a labour of love. Excellent breakfast, such apparently simplicity masking great execution and attention to detail. Would heartily recommend,

We stayed for two nights at AR and absolutely loved it. Our little 'studio' definitely had the wow factor with high beamed ceilings, huge canvas and lovely bright interiors. The room was really well designed and laid out with everything you could ever want - the Smeg fridge a real bonus! It has such character that it was a shame to have to leave the room! The bathroom was tiny but had lovely organic products and everything worked. The beds were comfy and there was loads of floor space, a sofa and a couple if chairs to lounge in.
The location of AR was great as it was off the main stretch on a quiet cute little street but still extremely central and perfect for us wanting to get out of Penzance to the neighbouring beaches.
The staff were a delight, so smiley, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I'd mentioned when booking it was my sisters birthday and they'd done a lovely touch of putting lots of balloons in our room, such a nice thought and really appreciated.
Everyone has commented on the breakfasts, so we were looking forward to trying those, especially after a couple of late nights! They were fantastic, home cooked, fresh, lovely produce and they catered to your every need. The breakfast area had an individual feel with great decorations, furniture and miss matched new and old crockery.
Thank you so much for a great stay! We will definitely be back, might try another of the rooms next time!

A lovely boutique hotel with character in an area surrounded by good pubs and restaurants.
Very clean bright and funky rooms which are well equipped.
Superb breakfasts and good quaility tea.
The staff are always at hand to help and are most welcoming.
Free parking is available just down the road or on the sea front even in late july so don't worry about the hotel not having parking parking.

We stayed in the Ben Gray room on the top floor. Funky room, clean and good size. Very friendly service and EXCELLENT breakfast - good choice! I didn't find the bed as comfy as I would have expected. Styled well.

Having booked our first child free holiday since the children had fledged we decided to have a relaxed journey home to the midlands. This hotel was all we expected it to be and more. It's lovely to have individualized rooms in a characterful property rather than a standard souless room in a modern chain hotel.

We had a room on the top floor with a view out across the bay. Though it was the hottest part of this summer, we kept cool with several skylights and a very efficient fan. There was a wardrobe in the eaves and adequate drawers and shelving for storage.

The staff were very helpful and directed us to potential eateries and we had a call the evening we were to arrive to ensure there was someone at hand at reception.

Breakfast , again, is a treat. The dining room is spacious and comfortable with lots of reading material to browse. Eggs Benedict were spot on and kept me going until my cream tea in the afternoon on St Michael's Mount.

Would definately return or visit their sister hotel in Brighton.

Room Tip: Each room is so individual I'm sure they all have their own qualities however I did like being a...
