I dont know how this place isnt in the top 20 Bnbs in Penzance. Here is my take from our recent stay.

Good Points:
- 15 minute walk from train and bus station. Just be careful to walk on the road opposite of the car parks, where the shops are located.
- Twin room was generously spacious
- Bedding extremly modern
- Free toiletries provided
- Large towels provided
- Free wifi
- TVs in the room to catch up with footie
- Hair Dryer and Luggage stand provided
- Tea and Coffee facilities in the room
- View in the breakfast room was beautiful
- Cooked breakfast was quite tasty. Orange juice was great and even had Orange slices in the jar. A tray of different bread provided.
- They hold your luggage after checking out.
- Its quite away from a pub which does a live open air live band at night! I feel sorry for the people staying near that racket as I am sure they wouldnt have a good nights sleep. We did hear the music but were lucky to fall asleep as we were knackered.
- Kate the owner/manager is quite attentive and friendly, especially during break fast. She even kept the pets away for our visit on request.

Points for improvement:
- Shampoo holder in the toilet was very rusty
- Outside sitting area needs to be done up a bit as it didnt look welcoming

Room Tip: Try to take rooms facing the promenade as they will have the best sea views. However if you dont end...

7 of us stayed at the Stanley last night and we were really impressed by the warm welcome we were given by Kate as well as the cleanliness if the guest house. We found it great value for money and could not find any cause for complaint. Cooked breakfast was lovely too!

My partner and I were extremely pleased with the sevice and comfort at the Stanley. We stayed in room 3a which has such a beautiful view of the seafront. We felt very welcome and comfortable during our stay and would recommend the Stanley to anyone looking to stay in Penzance.
The breakfast was cooked well and all in all we couldn't really find fault anywhere.

Stayed in 'The Stanley' with my Mum for two nights at the beginning of July. Rooms were clean and tidy and both had a sea view (Room 7 & Room 5). Owners were friendly and made an effort to make us feel welcome. We did point out that one of the shower plug hole's was blocked and they received the feedback well and rectified the problem. Were also really helpful in giving advice on locality. Overall, excellent customer service. If I could find one criticism (and I'm scrapping the barrel) the rooms were a little on the small side (enough room to swing a cat but probably not a dog!).

Originally had hoped to stay in St Ives but having now been to Penzance, I would most definitely chose Penzance over and above St Ives. Penzance is underrated and St Ives has been taken over by tourists. This B&B is right on the promenade with views over to St Michael's mount also ideally placed for Minack theatre, Lizard, Land's end and my top tip Porthcurno beach - absolutely idyllic. Considering what you get for your money this is excellent value. Would definitely recommend this place!

We stayed in the small double room which still had room for chairs to look at the sea view. Lovely large comfy bed and good en suite which had all the shower gels etc provided. Breakfasts are very good with 3 different types of bread for toast and good quality ingredients used in your full English fry up. Owner very accommodating with hot milk with your cafetiere coffee. Great location with walks from the doorstep and easy access to main attractions. Recommend the Minack Theatre, we had limited view cheap tickets but could still see it all anyway, great views and atmosphere.

The Stanley is situated right on the waterfront in the centre of Penzance making it only a short walk from everything. We thought, when we booked that we had a choice of either a small room with a sea view or a bigger room without, we opted for the bigger room and ended up with a seaview anyway (room 10). The room was cleaned daily, came with all the amenities one would expect from a big city hotel and the breakfast was brilliant, full English, cereal, fruit, etc. The only slight issues arose with parking and payment. We managed to get a space most days, but understandably towards the end of July (peak season), Penzance is very busy, one of the ladies who runs the hotel offered to move her car so we could have her space which solved that problem. With regards to payment, most people in our group, 4 couples in total, genuinely thought they had prepaid when they booked through the laterooms, as it turns out this was only a reservation and payment needed to be made on departure which was rather embarrassing for the couple in the new white Audi TT who were halfway out the carpark before they realised their mistake.

Room Tip: Room 10 isn't advertised as having seaviews although it does, is quite large and is right at the...

My parents and I stayed in this very good B&B in June 2013. The B&B is very well located: Just by the sea, almost opposite the famous sea pool. It is easy to find and has generous parking space of which there's even more (free) by the road. There are many pubs close by; I would recommend "The Dolphin".

My parents had a double room on the top of the building under the roof, my single was on the first floor. Room are smallish, but really snug, clean, and well-equipped. The view from both rooms was excellent because the house is in front of the sea.

The landlady was lovely, and so were her assistants. Rarely have I encountered such friendly, helpful people.

The breakfast was good, with generous portions.

Excellent value for money!

All in all, I can highly recommend this B&B - although I wonder what the Penzance hype is all about...
