On a bitterly cold morning in March we found a few places free in Minak car park and I was able to persuade my wife to challenge her fear of heights and explore this fascinating open theatre. The cafe is well run, good cakes and very good coffee. This pre exploration of the theatre from the safety of the cafe windows almost defeated her courage but she rose to the occasion and we stepped into the abyss.
We have not regretted our visit one jot. This must provide audiences a wonderful experience of almost Greek amphitheatre performances with the stage below and the turbulence of the seascape backdrop. Wonderful in fine weather but daunting on inclement days. There is an excellent exhibition of how Rebecca Cade had the inspiration of creating, designing and building Minak. Be brave and explore this theatre, you won't regret it.
