We spent a couple nights in Penzance earlier this month and can't say enough about Dick and Glenis' hospitality. The Elmsdale is indeed a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in the front room overlooking the street; it was well laid out, comfortable and very clean. Also, the shower in the ensuite worked very well. We are fans of English breakfasts and breakfast here did not disappoint. In fact, they went out of there way to ensure there was a supply of decaf coffee on hand! We both highly recommend the Elmsdale.

Elmsdale was a great place to stay in Penzance. We had the front room with a bay window and new ensuite. It was exceptionally clean and tastefully furnished. The host, Richard, was very accommodating and welcoming. Would thoroughly recommend this B & B. Great breakfast. Very close to the city centre, restaurants and shops. Michael and Janice from Australia.

Room Tip: Ask for ground floor if you have a bad back/ heavy luggage.

A nineteenth century house with a Cornish granite frontage and beautifully modernised inside. Neutral colours, plain carpets, modern light coloured furniture, good en-suite, comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. Quiet road, not far from the sea and the town centre. Could not ask for more. One of the best B&Bs I've stayed in.

Thank you for your review. Thank you for persevering and visiting Cornwall despite reports we were 'cut off ' by weather damage. We are open for business as you discovered.

We stayed here for one night (twin room plus a double with single occupancy for our son) and were really pleased. It was excellent value for both rooms, and the owner was very helpful and friendly. All the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and very well furnished. The en suite was very good, and the shower cubicle was a good size (the shower worked really well, too). The breakfast was excellent. The house itself is lovely, and the owners have enjoyed renovating it.
The fridge on the landing, which provided fresh milk for our rooms, was a really good idea. Our rooms faced the back of the building and were very quiet.
We couldn't recommend it highly enough, and will definitely book again when we are next in Penzance.

I needed a room for just one Saturday night in Penzance and Elmsdale were the ONLY guest house / b&b that would accommodate me. I'm now writing this before checking out and I can't recommend this place highly enough. The room and en-suite are tastefully decorated, well maintained, immaculately clean and a very good size. There is a double wardrobe a 4 drawer chest & bed side tables in matching light wood, a flat screen tv and small dvd player and of course a hair dryer and tea and coffee making. The breakfast is excellent and cooked to order. There is also a help youself cold buffet breakfast table with everything you'd expect. Finally, the welcome is very warm and friendly and the proprietor is very happy to offer advice to help make the most of your stay in Penzance.

We enjoyed a lot staying in this bed and breakfast.
Bedrooms are very big and clean and even the bathroom. The bedrooms are complete with television, dvd player, free wifi and coffee and tea maker.
The bed and breakfast is located in a quiet area but at the same time not very far from city
centre(walking distance) and from St Michael's Mount (10 minutes by car).
The owner was very friendly and very helpful. On our arrival he gave us a map to be able to locate the best places to eat and turist attractions. Outside our room we even had a small cooler with fresh milk in it!
The breakfast was delicious, the owner even gave us the menù in italian since we are from Italy.
Very satisfied!

This charming guest house was basically a home from home. The en-suite room I had was really lovely, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. My every need was catered for, from providing me with gluten/wheat free bread and cereal for my breakfast every morning, making sure everything in my room was always in good working order and replenished, to providing me with lots of interesting and helpful information on places to go and where to eat. It is a quiet, friendly and lovely house to base yourself in, for where ever you want to go. I was very sad to leave, having had a wonderful holiday, and would highly reccomend this guest house for however long you are visiting Penzance/Cornwall.
