Great room - nice pub - good food - very friendly staff - sea view from the room. Short walk from bus/rail station - We had originally booked for 5 nights but a mix-up caused the Dolphin to contact us the next day to apologize (they could only take us for three nights) and offered to find equal accommodations for the two remaining nights - we agreed - so glad we did as the Dolphin is a lovely place to stay.

When I worked in the town it was a regular watering hole. Had not visited for some years and was pleasantly surprised at how the old place had smartened up.
Food good and so the Beer.
Staff a little uninterested but that was probably due to our great age

Room Tip: Good view across the road to the working dock,if you sit out side be aware this is a busy road.

We recently went to wedding in Penzance and had the pleasure of staying at The Dolphin Tavern, The room was excellent with great view over the harbour and the bed was a very comfortable kings size bed and so had a good nights sleep. Unfortunately only had chance to eat one meal which was also excellent. All the staff were very professional and friendly. Look forward to staying there again when next in Penzance

Room Tip: which ever room you have always a good view

We just love this place, so atmospheric with all the old maritime memrobillia adorning the place.
Rooms are nice and big , clean and airy with all the usual tv, tea, coffee etc....
We always try and stay at The Dolphin as a base for when we take the Scilonian to the Scilly Isles, its so convieniant.
The food is lovely especially the sizzlers!, you'll be looking at the menu trying to decide what to have, when you keep getting distracted by the shhhhhhhhhhhhhing noise of the boiling hot steak, mushroom or chicken sizzler getting delivered to the tables, anyone thats been here could possibly have a rye smile on their face while reading this review.
Try one their GORGEOUS!!
The rest of the foods fine ofcourse and some nice specials that can sell out quite fast.
The breakfast will set you up for the day, lots of choice.
All the staff we found to be friendly and efficent, the owners also muck in to which we think is a good sign.
All in all, good everything.
Goes without saying we'll be back.

Room Tip: Theres only 2 and there both the same overlooking the harbour

I recently enjoyed a visit to Penzance and on my last night, ate i here. The food was not amazing, however, you get what you pay for and it was perfectly acceptable given that it was very reasonably priced.

The service was very good, all the staff that were on duty were all pleasant and efficient. Would eat here again next time I am in the area.

Recently spent a few nights in Penzance at the excellent Dolphin Tavern.Large comfortable bay windowed room to the front of the premises. As the tavern is situated by the harbour we had an excellent sea view and could see St.Michaels Mount.Ferry to Scilly Isles straight across the street.Competitively priced.Tavern food very good.Only down side is no parking although a reasonably priced publc car park is within 100 yards.
Would have no problem returning. .

Room Tip: Bay fronted front room overlooking the harbour.

We were fortunate enough to spend a night here, should have been two!!! The rooms were amazing, both with harbour views. Yes the toilets were quirky in that they made a noise but it made us laugh and was fully explained as to why in the bathroom. Lovely and big and comfortable. The breakfast was first class and the dinner was amazing. One of best pubs we have ever stayed in. We will be going back. All the staff were so friendly and helpful . Britain should be proud of this pub - excellent value for money, good food and above all, fantastic staff. Well done. Pity you only have 2 rooms - we took both on one night!

Room Tip: There are only 2 rooms, both excellent, one good for families. Cannot recommend highly enough.
