We went here for a family meal for my Dad's 60th. We ordered and sat down after getting drinks from the bar. 30 minutes passed, no food. 45 minutes later our patience had worn slim, we were watching take-away customers getting served and leaving while we were still waiting for our food. People behind us in the queue was getting served before us. At this point I asked a member of staff what's going on, although we were given an apology and told it was on its way now, it didn't really help.
What arrived was disappointing. The curry sauce was more Indian than chip shop curry sauce, the chips were undercooked. Thank god for the fish! I mean for £7 a cod I would have been peeved if it was anything less than perfect. We left annoyed and upset that a dampener was put on my old mans 60th.
Staff were brilliant. Manager couldn't help us more. But, customers MUST be warned if food it going to be a long wait. Chefs and counter staff should re-think their serving system - stop at a certain point? Or serve everyone in order, regardless on if they sit in or take away.

We visited Rick Stein at Fistral when it was very busy. Although they were busy they coped well and the service was as fast and efficient as it could be considering the sheer volume of customers. We ordered the fish and chips with tartare sauce and the Pad Thai. The fish and chips were unbelievable and the tartare more like a tartare butter was a subtle taste not as tangy as tartare sauce which was more to my taste. The Pad Thai was laced with coriander, as you know you either love or hate the stuff, I hate it. We brought it back as there was no mention of the coriander on the menu and they were happy to make me a fresh one with no coriander Hallelujah, the manager even brought it back to the table. I was so impressed as considering how busy they were this was amazing customer service!! Highly recommend! oh and ps the Pad Thai was amazing!

To be fair the food is usually ok it’s a bit pricy however great spot as I’m local and it’s a nice treat however as soon as the crowds come the quality of food drops. The chips were very over cooked and couldnt get desert as were told had to queue outside to get desert even though eating in the restaurant... ridiculous and just wasnt worth it!!
