We decided, against our better judgement to go to the ‘New Harbour’ restaurant having been to the Harbour Restaurant – don’t get them confused, three nights previous.
I had read the review on here but we decided to try anyway, given that most people probably don’t go to Newquay for the cuisine. The previous reviewer was right.
We initially decided against it on our first night in Newquay as when we approached the restaurant, half the staff were sat on the steps up the side, smoking and chatting to each other. Fair enough, I don’t neglect people the right to socialise, but if it was my restaurant, I’d have space out of public view personally.
The food was fine, we had the mixed fish grill and the mackerel. We collectively decided we would revisit again based on the food alone, but the main lady who looked like she either ran the joint or was managing it, didn’t crack a smile all night, had an insolent look on her face every time she had the unfortunate task of having to make the effort to speak to us and basically ruined the entire evening.
Get another job love. That’s my advice.
