Came here with a group of friends as my boyfriend wanted to try lobster for the first time. The actual setting for this restaurant is beautiful overlooking the harbour in Newquay. The food itself wasn't that great, and unfortunately the first trial of lobster was dry and no butter was provided.

This is a great place, whatever the weather and whichever season!
The tide gives you plenty of opportunities for good photos.
It is a real working harbour, but very much recreational too. Lovely to watch all with a glass of...

The food is good, but I find for example a cheese and ham sandwich, however thick the bread, overpriced at £6.99! They didn't make it on brown bread, as requested, nor did it get toasted, as asked for...
I've loved the fish and the soup i've had so far.
The lattes are hit and miss; it is disappointing to pay £2.50 for a mediocre coffee.
Sometimes they do hit the spot. There is coffee flavour, which I always love, so that's a plus!

They used to do an out of this world sunday-lunch...and then they changed the chef!
They are about to change the chef again, so hopefully the sunday-lunch will once again be a good reason to go there.
The staff has a high turnover..overall v pleasant.
The owner can be a bit more friendly...

We hadn't booked, and only really discovered this restaurant by chance, but thankfully we managed to get the one and only available table! Whilst the beaches are spectacular, some parts of Newquay can be a little brash, others a little commercialised, but here, down by the harbour, was the true heart and soul of Newquay. The restaurant was fully-booked and it is not hard to see why - the ambience, food and location are wonderful. It feels very authentic in that it is literally on the quayside, and feels almost like it must have started as a fisherman's hut, and gradually became this glamorous, rustic, romantic, bustling restaurant. We chose a seafood platter which consisted of fresh mackerel, mussels, lobster, crab claws in a tasty white wine and cream sauce, along with fries. It was certainly enough for two and we savoured every last bite. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I'm not sure why the reviewer below has posted such negative comments as I found the menu to be full of tempting dishes - it was difficult to settle on one! I hope to go back and try out more dishes from the menu one day!

Make sure you book so you don't miss out on this gem! Beautiful setting, amazing food and fab service. The fish was so fresh and tasted delicious, the crab was also excellent. We will definitely be coming back!!

Amazed by live crayfish at entrance, great setting and friendly service, albeit inept. Unfortunately that is where the good points end.

Wine glasses look like they would survive a shipwreck. Menu was lacklustre, I ordered the whole lobster and it was cooked perfectly but there no sauces at all. My husband had the roast crab claws which were pretty terrible. We asked a waitress for a garlic butter or lemon butter sauce and she didn't know what we were talking about.

This place has so much potential but needs a chef with a bit of passion and inspiration.
