“Very clean and very good location”
Reviewed April 17, 2012

This b&b is one of the cleanest I've ever been to. The owners are very helpful, always making sure we were ok at breakfast and if we needed anything else. Very good location. I would definitely
recommend this place .Oh yes the breakfast marmalade is just the best.

St. Bernards is THE nicest B and B I have ever stayed in. Louise and Jon cannot do enough for you! They have made the place a classy modern boutique guesthouse.

The rooms are spacious, modern and clean, you even get an ipod docking station and DVD player in the rooms. Breakfast is delicious and they cater very well for vegetarians. We were made to feel very welcome and invited for a drink in their lounge on the house as it was my partners birthday.

The only small criticism I have is that I really like a bath or a power shower when I go away and we had neither, the shower was not very powerful but it did the job and is by no means any reason to not stay here.

We were a party of four twenty-somethings and its perfect location for evenings out- a crawling distance from the club Berties! But its also quiet enough that you come home and fall straight asleep.

Do not look any further, just book St. Bernards as I don't think you'll find much better in Newquay.

My fiance and I stayed at St. Bernards for the Easter break - what an amazing B+B - you could call it a boutique hotel. The room was comfortable - great decor. Louse offered us extras e.g. fridge and dvd player and dvds. Louise and John were brilliant and very hospitable. We were able to check in early and parking was a mere £2 per day (booked in advance). Breakfast was excellant - no grease with the fry up - very attentative. Big light breakfast room - spacious.
The location of the b+b is superb. Walking distance to the beaches and the shops / restaurants and bars. We will be staying again without a doubt.
The only downside was hearing the running water of the rooms next door - but that wouldn't stop us from staying again.

Hi Karen,

Thank you for taking time to review St. Bernards we are pleased you enjoyed your time with us.

Reviews are important to us and we take any comments that could improve our service seriously.

Since your stay we have had a 'pressure reducing valve' fitted to our cold water supply which has reduced tap noise considerably.

Thank you again for your contribution and we hope to see you soon!

What can we say about our stay at the St.Bernards Guest House, it was a pleasure, it was superb and we defintely recommend this to everyone. From the moment we arrived we were treated like we were royalty. Louise was the gracious host, and even offered to take our luggage to the room (on the top floor, and we are not light packers, LOL). We even brought our two little dogs with us and they gave us a room with a little extra room in it for their bed, very thoughtful. Breakfast was great everyday, and John cooked everything to perfection. The rooms and en-suite and spotlessly clean and even the in-room guide was tailored perfectly for our stay (and very well designed too, John). They even had a mammoth selection of DVD's to watch if the weather turned ugly, fortunately for us the weather was absolutely superb and we didn't need to watch any (we thought about borrowing one for the dogs to watch when we went out one evening).

Its central location is ideally located for everything in Newquay and also for discovering the rest of Cornwall. On our stay we visited Lands End, St Ives (a must see), St. Micheals Mount, Lizard Point, Padstow and even Tintagel (supposedly legendary birthplace of King Arthur!). They offered us off-street parking (for only £2 per night, a bargain) which we also took advantage of too.

OK, all the good points, and now unfortunately we have to get to the bad bits. Well there was only one. Not enough time. So consequently we will certainly look at revisiting St.Bernards Guest House in the near future to experience their excellent hospitality, spotlessly clean rooms and entire guest house and (when the weather is a little warmer), perhaps even a kiteboarding lesson or two.

Thanks for making our short break away a memorable one. You have a crackin' business and are excellent hosts. We recommend St.Bernards Guest House to all.

Room Tip: We had a choice of two rooms, chose one on the front. No noise at all, despite being on the main roa...

This B&B was superb! Very modern and clean rooms with comfortable beds.
Very central location and a very friendly family run business.
Excellent breakfasts too.
It was brilliant to stay somewhere in which we were felt welcomed and where the owners go that extra mile for you.
I highly recommend this place.

This is a real gem of a place - really close to the town centre, but not so close that you'd be disturbed by the nightlife. It's excellent value for money; I paid £34 per night including breakfast, and off-road parking can be arranged for an extra £2 per night. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfasts are generous and everything is cooked to order. The owners are also extremely helpful and friendly, and there's a wealth of information in the entrance hall about things to do and places to see. I'm looking forward to my next visit already!
