I am so disappointed! After sending them a complaint regarding their end of season party, I am still awaiting a response, yet they find the time to send me further emails asking me to attend future events and spend yet more money. Their "event/party" was misleading, no seats to sit at - bearing in mind we were a party of 4 with 2 pensioners and one sufferer of epilepsy, limited choice of drinks (very over priced) and the food choice was jacket potato with curry or chilli, non of which my dad would touch. We paid £66 in all for absolutely nothing!! When I asked for an explanation and a refund I am ignored - my comments will be heard on this platform and the next......... Disgusting way to treat tourists - if they intended to throw a party for their staff for end of season to use up all the left over stock (because that's exactly what it seemed like) then great - but to mislead the general public and tourists into parting with hard earned cash to attend something that was made out to be something it wasn't that is fraud! The cost of a ticket was £15 pp plus £1.50 pp booking fee which just included access to the venue to listen to music! They should be ashamed of themselves!

LustyGlazeBeach, Manager at Lusty Glaze, responded to this reviewResponded October 8, 2018

Dear Mrs King

Thanks once again for taking your time to post another review about the Lostyn Funk event at Lusty Glaze Beach. Our initial response (copied below) was posted under the review you left on our sister site. After review, Trip Advisor upheld our response and removed your review.

Just incase you missed the last response:

As stated in our response to you yesterday, your original message was indeed overlooked for which we apologised. Having now reviewed your message you appear to be under the impression that the event was seated and with normal restaurant service. As you will see from your ticket confirmation, this was a ticketed event, with clearly stated information that your £15 ticket price was for entry and entertainment only, The 3 page confirmation clearly states what is available on the night including disabled access and facilities.

I can assure you that none of our hard working staff will agree with your comment that it was an end of season party for them. If you stopped for one moment to appreciate how all of the equipment, lighting, staging and supplies made their way down the cliff and back up again…you will perhaps comprehend that this was quite different for our internal end of season party which was held a week later.

On the evening which hosted 496 very happy guests, we had 5 bars in operation. A rum bar, our normal inside bar selling a range of ales, lager, wines and spirits along with prosecco and champagne. Two additional full bars and a beer can, cash only bar (£3.50 per can). The food supplied may have not been to your liking for which we can only apologise.

Since our reply yesterday you have sent two further messages threating damaging social media posts if your request for compensation is not met. As such your reviews have been reported.

As requested we have removed you from all our marketing sites.

Found this whilst driving along coast road looking for a beach to run our dog.
Well worth the steps down to a lovely sandy beach.
We were not intending to eat, but a look out to sea from he restruant kept us there for lunch.
Decor, ambiance and freindly staff and a loook at the menu certainly helped, but more importantly there were no restrictions on where we could take our soppy retriever, even in the opulant and comfortable lounge area.
Moving on to a table with a sea veiw, we ordered a chicken salad for Liz and sea bass fillets with ratatouille, saute potatoes and a beetroot and horseradish puree.
Without any doubt this was the best seafood dish I have ever encountered (yes even better than Steins Seafood restruant!!!). The skin was crisp, without the meat being comprmised. The ratatouille cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The puree complimated the dish extremely well..
The salad more than impressed Liz, the highlight being the succulent, tasty chicken.
Pondering over a dessert, we went for it and boy, oh boy!!! I had the Lusty
Mess, a brilliant take on Eton Mess. A huge portion of meringue and chantilly cream stuffed with red fruits and blue berries which sat between the crunch of the meringue and softness of the fruit.
Liz's sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream was generous and very light in texture was.
3 hours of pure joy, relaxation with a stunning view made our holiday.
Chef - you are to be complimented.
Staff - thank you so much for making our holiday.

Paul, Liz and soppy Bella

Last time we went to lusty glaze was when we got married in June. The staff were brilliant. The food was excellent. Couldn't fault them. So you are probably thinking why the bad review this time. Well food shouldn't just taste good,it should also look good. In June several friends in our group ordered fish and chips. When it came out it was WOW!! It was a large piece of cod on a wooden board all presented beautifully. So you can imagine returning in September our friends were really looking forward to it again. So we went for the fish and chips. When they brought them out there was an eerie silence. The fish was probably a third of the size before, served on a round plate, with chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce slapped on a plate like the chef was in a hurry(it wasn't even that busy). I'm not being all negative. What we had tasted fine but there are standards and I'm afraid they let there's slip. Which is a shame as it's such a nice place. Have they changed owners maybe ? I didn't recognise any of the staff from the last time we were there. So maybe that's the case. Who knows. But one things for sure we shall definitely think twice about going there again. Which saddens us.

A truly beautiful evening! Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Lusty Glaze for making the evening so special.
We went to see my favourite band play in this beautiful place. What could be better than watching the sun set over the sea whilst listening to Morcheeba with a G&T in hand.
We've eaten here a few times and the food has always been great. Even with a gig going on the food was to the usual high standard.Thank you. We'll be back!

We took the step (many steps) down to the lust glaze restaurant and beach in hope we may get a table for lunch. I have mobility difficulties and had to take my time going down and climbing back up, but I’m so glad I did. The restaurant is buzzing with laughter and people chatting and the food was Devine. Sadly I was only able to do one visit due to my own abilities but I would have gone again and again if able. The beach is clean and the water clear. Definitely recommend

Whilst holidaying in Newquay we came to this beach a couple of times. It’s so clean and just a fantastic spot to spend a few hours. It also leads onto neighbouring beaches which is a great walk, exploring the rock pools and caves along the way. We walked all the way back to Newquay beach and then came back on the coastal road which was a nice walk.

We accidently named the beach Lusty Crust as we could not recall the name of the beach! Lovely beach and highly recommend it for a visit if visiting Newquay. There is a café and bar down on the beach as well as toilets. There was a wedding going on at the time we were down, which was different to watch as the Groom was wearing board shorts.
The beach is brilliant for body boarding as the waves are rather high and really powerful. There is only a few pebbles which separates the beach from the sea and the sand in the sea is very soft. We did wear water shoes however, did take them off. A company offers Jet Skiing however, you must book in advance for this.
The car parks price is reasonable £7 for the day. The beach is down steep steps, which differ in size and height.

Fabulous beach with shop, restaurant, bar and take away. We were there for their beach rugby weekend which was a great, friendly family event. Staff throughout the whole beach complex were fantastic - really first class both with their service and the cheerful way they went about it.

We have been to Newquay ma y times but for what ever reason never ventured this far North?
Till today and what a beautiful beach it is, despite the many steps, it's worth the effort.
Clean and tidy with beautiful sand, what's not to like?
